The answer is that we need more American members

And the incumbent Americans need to tape their eyes open and look at the ads

You're a funny f*ck!

Damn... this is coming off a World Series run.  This website has gotta be the only Blue Jays related product that didnt turn a revenue.  Gotta fix that lol

Hah, we actually don't see a huge bump in the postseason. It's kinda weird, right? But we don't. I think there's so much national-level attention that the smaller sites are drowned out in October.

But that's okay, we want to deliver a consistent product all year long; we really shine during the draft, at the trade deadline, that sort of thing.

A few more ideas to draw US based ad views:

- renew our rivalry with the Orioles Hangout, in order to gaude them into lurking and posting here (under heavy censorship)

- encourage Connor to post so that we get several hits per day from various FBI field offices

- Strongly imply that we have a team staffer leaking info during ST and we will get several hits a day from the Dunedin facility

- encourage thinly veiled anti American off topic posts, such as "why bald eagles suck". They won't be able to help themselves

Good ad providers aren’t pay per click anymore. We get paid for impressions, not clicks.

What does impressions mean?  Ie, how can I, the typical user, interact with your ads to provide more revenue?

As a web dev, majority of users on mobile rarely have ad blockers. It's probably more to do with device use (people using the site at work for example, like myself).  Check the analytics?

Yeah, it's going to be mostly a desktop issue because it's a lot harder to run blockers on mobile. But mobile ad rates are also lower than desktop, so it's kind of a double effect.

Mine is just a specific browser app with a built-in ad blocker that works exceptionally well. Desktop and mobile and works like a charm.

You guys have been very helpful in this thread, and I thank you for that. We've talked to our ad provider and reduced ads by close to 20%. Hopefully, this will make the site more palatable to use with advertisements enabled.

Of course not, thats what ad blockers are for. Best suicide prevention tool since banning grant

I will allow them here though going forward

It's not much different than having the AdBlock, just Ads between some posts now and than, you just have to scroll for an extra second for every ad, the one's on the sides of the pages were always there.

I've got a google platform laptop(Chromebook) and it does the same built in security, everything. I have to manually shut it off in this case for the site only.

Thanks for the advice Laika around a decade ago, lol. I bought my 1st one for dirt cheap as it was refurbished, this one I got brand new for $200ish six years ago on Boxing Day... haha.

One thing that cracks me up about ads is how they're so often "post-purchase". I get how and why it needs to be that way, but it's always funny when you're like "cool, thanks for showing me a bunch of ads for that PlayStation game I purchased three days ago, I'm definitely considering buying a second copy".
