I have a bad feeling that the Dodgers will trade Teo and then sign Tucker to a massive short term deal.

Massive aav short-term deal opt outs and probably deferrals

Yeah there might be a few problems these days

This explains why the Yankees and other big spanding teams didn't wanted to overpaid for free agents.  They let Dodgers play alone buying WS championships. For sure next CBA a real salary cap will be voted,  and probably defferal money no allowed.

What will happen if in next CBA salary cap will be 300m max? Do the Dodgers and their 500m payroll need to be cut to 300m ?

Someone will probably crunch the numbers but Tucker is gonna cost almost 100M/year

This year, Diaz and Tucker cost them 166 millions,  because they have penalties for signing free agents.

I am the wrong guy to ask. I doubt a salary cap is coming but if it did I would imagine teams would be granted maybe two seasons to adjust their roster

Only Dodgers will vote against it.

Would there be deferrals on a short term deal?

Probably yeah. To bring the AAV down. And also to evade taxes for the player.

It’s not my money but I hope the Jays fork it over.

Jays can sign Bellinger or make a trade with Cards for Donavan and with the White Sox for Robert Jr . The 2 will cost less than Tucker, and with similar stats each.  Donovan will cost someone like Nimmala, Schneider and Stanifer. Robert Jr,  Loperfido and low end prospects.

I still don’t see them losing a season to get a cap. More likely the punishments for going above thresholds are going to be massive to the point where even the Dodgers would pause before doing it. Plus, a salary cap would suck for the Jays, so keep the system the way it is.

If Robert could stay on the field and wasn’t made of cheap glass I might be interested.

If nothing changes,  teams will have difficulties sell tickets,  and they won't overpaid like Dodgers do. Also, those who take advantage of the system are the top free agents,  other players won't be overpaid.

Good thing is that the Mets dont need Bo and the Red Sox need a 3B now so Bo isnt that useful for them.

Seems like it'll be us and Philly for Bo so if we really want him then just show him the money.  Dont think Philly is the type of team who would offer an insane deal like the Mets/Dodgers would.

The same about Bichette,  Tucker or Bellinger.  They are all injury prone. I think Popkin can fix Robert Jr, and he can bounce back with the Jays.
