hanton Old-Timey Member Posted October 13, 2025 Posted October 13, 2025 Mariners game plan > Jays game plan (taking out Gausman early)
glory Old-Timey Member Posted October 13, 2025 Posted October 13, 2025 Put this game in the rear view. Offense stunk, and while JS made some questionable moves, the team only gave up 3 runs against a team whose pitching staff was supposed to be running on fumes. Inexcusable display by the offense all things considered. Go out and win tomorrow. Stangstag 1
Jonn Old-Timey Member Posted October 13, 2025 Posted October 13, 2025 Can the weather just be nice enough to open the roof tomorrow. The vibes just go way down when that place is closed.
Grant77 Old-Timey Member Posted October 13, 2025 Posted October 13, 2025 A lot of things played out like you would have expected tonight: - Gausman dominated a bad lineup with a lot of free outs and their lone good hitter hurt him. - Our bullpen was horrible and gave up a couple of runs, as they have in most of the playoff games so far. - The Mariners made a couple of bad defensive plays, while the Jays played good defense. If the Jays offense is prepared and focused then this game is probably 8-3 and everyone is happy. We saw pitching that was both bad and tired and we just couldn't get anything done. The guys just laid down and didn't put in any real effort. It was one of the most embarrassing performances in Blue Jays playoff history from top to bottom. I expect that we can hold a bad Mariners offense to 2 or 3 runs in every game and that played out here, but if the offense doesn't step up and start hitting against some bad pitching then this series will be over before it gets back to Toronto. Stangstag Old-Timey Member Posted October 13, 2025 Posted October 13, 2025 It’ll be alright people, its a 7 game series. Really need a win tomorrow but its not dire yet. Offense needs to get back to basics. G-Snarls, BatFlip and Kordesi 3
thatoneguy Old-Timey Member Posted October 13, 2025 Posted October 13, 2025 What was the Jay's final xBA in the game?
Pinkfloid Verified Member Posted October 13, 2025 Posted October 13, 2025 Ideally we can win 3 of the next 4, doing that allows us to get that final win at home. Going to be tough but I hope the bats wake up tomorrow and allow us to be competitive. Stangstag, BatFlip and Spanky__99 3

Jonn Old-Timey Member Posted October 13, 2025 Posted October 13, 2025 If they approach Castillo how they approached the Yankees starting pitching it will be a positive outcome. He's not missing bats anywhere near the rate he use to. He will not give in so you can grind out walks against them. That's exactly what the Tigers did in his start against them. Just battle you can't give away at-bats the way they did tonight. Just non competitive at-bats when every at-bat against the Yankees felt like a grind. Stangstag 1

SeranthonySantander Verified Member Posted October 13, 2025 Posted October 13, 2025 Orioles Reddit has a good thread going on Gaus ”I think most O's fans felt like he had it in him to be a TOR starter. He was the 4th overall pick his draft year. He had high expectations that took him a while to fulfill.” talking about us like were the dodgers or Yankees
GoBlue41 Verified Member Posted October 13, 2025 Posted October 13, 2025 Disappointing for sure, especially living out here in Mariner country. Ugh!! Lots of pressure on our rookie pitcher tomorrow, but I believe he can get it done. It's far from over. Keep the faith!!! Kordesi 1

And did he get it out of the outfield after? No. Just like the rest of the team. Hopefully tomorrow he can aim his line drives better Stangstag and BatFlip 1 1

BTS Community Moderator Posted October 13, 2025 Posted October 13, 2025 Mariners announced Gilbert tomorrow
Terminator Old-Timey Member Posted October 13, 2025 Posted October 13, 2025 It was a weird game, we struck out 4 times all game and couldn’t buy a hit to save our lives Higher xBA than them and they out hit us a lot. If we win tomorrow we are in decent shape still but it’s almost a must win.

Yeah. Kind of adds clarity to what they will probably be using the rest of the series: 2 - Gilbert 3 - Kirby (4 days rest) 4 - Castillo (4 days rest) 5 - Miller (4 days rest) 6 - Gilbert (5 days rest) 7 - Kirby (4 days rest) Maybe Woo in for miller if they don’t use him in relief Stangstag and hanton 2
hanton Old-Timey Member Posted October 13, 2025 Posted October 13, 2025 Mariners had the 5th best bullpen in the 2nd half, we were 20th
