Winning managers do not pull pitchers who are crushing it

That just isn't true.  There are certain circumstances when it makes sense to ride your starter, but there are also situations when it makes sense to make the change earlier.  Great managers don't just pick one approach and always go with it. They read the situation and make the call.  Often the probabilities of having more success with one call over the other is 50/50.  It's really unfair to judge them harshly based on those decisions.  It's often a coin flip (or slight advantage).  The best managers often just go on heaters.

Imagine pulling your back to back Cy Young ace at only 99 pitches for a guy who was closing games for the Washington Nationals the last two seasons.

Imagine having Mitch Garver and Victor Robles in your starting lineup and actually making the playoffs.

With Skubal's level of dominance and mostly the reason your even in this situation. You have to ride him as long as you can. Atleast until someone puts a good swing on him.

Having that kind of Ace I don't know how you take him out. His last pitch was literally 101.

So pulling Kirby the right move, but pulling Skubal the wrong one?

I think pulling both was the wrong move. Kirby had been absolutely filthy.

Can we not pretend like Kirby was throwing anything like Skubal lol. Kirby was good. Skubal was the best pitcher on the planet.

Skubal is much better than Kirby.

Im not pretending anything.  Just questioning the baseball experts on here who know more than the guys in the dugout.

Ross did a pretty good job with our bench not going to lie. We have a lot of utility compared to these teams.
