glory Old-Timey Member Posted October 1, 2025 Posted October 1, 2025 The Yankees should have definitely pinch ran for Goldschmidt regardless of it being a 2 run game. As mentioned a faster/better base runner could potentially change the dynamic of that inning (take an extra base, score on a fly ball, etc). It matters. Boone was a slave to his team’s analytics tonight. Pulling Fried when he did was absurd. JS likes going to the bullpen as soon as possible too but I think even he would have waited for a base runner first in that spot, I guess we will see in the DS. The Yankees aren’t out of it, Rodon/Bello favors the Yankees, and they have Schlittler (or however you spell it) going in Game 3 if it gets there. Ideal scenario for the Jays would be the series going 3, so let’s hope. Jays24, Kordesi and Omar 3

Alejandro Murphy Verified Member Posted October 1, 2025 Posted October 1, 2025 In all seriousness though, the first three match ups and likely this last one were a treat to watch with very solid pitching duels from all team’s Aces. Spanky__99 and hanton 2

Cincy making it was a nice story but the Mets vs Dodgers was the better match up for the majority. Alejandro Murphy 1

I like how easy it is to pick a team to root for last minute and enjoy any game, see some new players we dont normally see Alejandro Murphy 1

Spanky__99 Old-Timey Member Posted October 1, 2025 Posted October 1, 2025 I didn't expect Hunter Greene to s*** the bed.
hanton Old-Timey Member Posted October 1, 2025 Posted October 1, 2025 this is not an easy lineup to pitch to
G-Snarls Community Moderator Posted October 1, 2025 Posted October 1, 2025 Yeah The Reds have no business being here

hanton Old-Timey Member Posted October 1, 2025 Posted October 1, 2025 um Conforto is not in the starting line-up. Not a surprise because he absolutely s*** the bed in the regular season. Must have been a difficult conversation though...
Masterbather Verified Member Posted October 1, 2025 Posted October 1, 2025 Cincy as threatening as an annoying house fly to the Dodgers.
philly30 Verified Member Posted October 1, 2025 Posted October 1, 2025 Reds are overmatched, only reason they are here is because the mets are a giant turd

I will never understand why they didn't DFA him and just brought up Ryan Ward who had an insane Season in AAA. The Dodgers have always been insanely loyal to veteran players. They kept Chris Taylor forever. They do the same now with Kike Hernandez. And Conforto despite being one of the worst offensive players in Baseball this Season. They still keep him.

No guarante he would have hit in the majors, look at Outman - mashed in AAA but was lost in the majors; difference is Outman is a good outfielder so they stuck with him for a while. Ward swings like Muncy though, I found that pretty interesting. Atkins should give Fried man a call - Ward looks like Horwitz with a ton more power
Stangstag Old-Timey Member Posted October 1, 2025 Posted October 1, 2025 I hope the Reds at least put up a fight in game 2. Gotta have a close game and get into that Dodgers bullpen

hanton Old-Timey Member Posted October 1, 2025 Posted October 1, 2025 I mean the Dodgers are good but the Reds have no business being in the post season.
