My guess is they'll try for 2 each from Varland and Lauer, and then go 1 inning/3 batters/mix and match with everyone else. These are the types of games John Schneider lives for. Getting to use the entire pen intentionally.

We're past the point where you're making decisions based on the long run man.  That argument no longer applies.  That said - there is a possibility that Kirk is playing through an injury (which would help explain his terrible September) or something fans aren't privy to.

It just seems highly unlikely that Heiny gives them a better chance to win.

I was at that beauty of a game.  

I cant remember the last time Vladdy has had a 2 HR game.  Is it too much to ask your best player to be able to carry you certain games?  Jose/Edwin used to have multiple 2 HR 5RBI games themselves man.

Much prefer Springer in RF than Santander in LF if I have a choice

I do understand they don't want Springer in the OF every day....  They'll likely do a bit of both.

But the chance of advancing past the first round is just so much better if we get to rest Bo, line up the rotation, , get a best of 5, and have home field advantage
