I am not the least bit concerned about "clinching a playoff spot".  The Jays are making the post season. 

I am now mostly concerned about maintaining first place in our own division.  Thanks to the Astros and Tigers floundering, our lead over the other division leaders is nearly insurmountable at this point   And almost no way the AL East winner isn't a top 2 no matter how well the Guardians and Mariners play. 

Win some games to lower the stress. Let the Yankees be their own worst enemy.  Just have to keep ahead in our own division and we'll be fine. Eye on the prize. AL East Division champs let's go!

IKF starting against a LHP again, despite having a 71 wRC+ against them in 2024 and 42 wRC+ against them in 2025. Barger is at 71 this season fwiw. 

I’d like to believe there’s more to JS’s logic than “RHB better matchup vs LHP” but it doesn’t appear there’s much beyond that. Like if you want to start IKf once in a while then doing it against a RHP is a much better matchup.

Super small sample size alert but IKF has produced an 80 wRC+ vs LHP and 68 wRC+ vs RHP in his brief time with the Blue Jays this season. These numbers could easily flip over the course of a single game but he's shown typical platoon splits as a Blue Jay in 2025. I'd rather he not get any starts no matter the handedness of the starter but this may be the lesser of two evils.

Yikes. Too bad they didn’t delay that conversation with Berrios by a day, Scherzer should be out of the rotation IMO
