Brock Beauchamp Site Manager Posted June 18, 2025 Posted June 18, 2025 The Jays are on something of a run, now somewhat comfortably into a postseason spot.
Laika Community Moderator Posted June 18, 2025 Posted June 18, 2025 The AL East might get crazy this year.

It doesn't really compute 21st in pitching fWAR but 7th best in ERA 12th in position player fWAR 9th best team in baseball with a +64 run differential? Their ERA-FIP on the team level is -0.72, by far the best in baseball. What's up? Over a full season that would be the best since the 2020 Dodgers. And TBR is a good to mediocre defensive team so it's not that.

Cause according to fWAR he's unplayable and anywhere from below average to slightly above average defensively, and according to bWAR he's the best defensive fielder in the world. He has 9.4 bWAR for his career and 0.8 fWAR.

I'd love to know how MLB teams view his value...but honestly, his bat is so terrible that he needs to be Ozzie Smith to warrant a starting job at the MLB level.

Seriously... these broke f**ers are almost always good, year after year after year! With no ballpark, to boot. They are so annoying lol. M.E. 1

Omar Old-Timey Member Posted June 18, 2025 Posted June 18, 2025 I suspect we haven't heard the last of the Orioles. A couple of hot weeks and they could be right back in it.

I think the starting pitching is going to prevent any prolonged hot streaks, even if the hitting is much better.

I guess it's possible but that's getting close to having to be the best team in baseball for the rest of the season.
Jays24 Old-Timey Member Posted June 18, 2025 Posted June 18, 2025 I really want to see how this lineup looks with Varsho/Santandar. Hurry back please!!! Bo - Barger - Vlad - Kirk - Springer - Varsho - Santandar - Clement - Gimenez

Being 6 games back of WC3 isn't insurmountable but they would have to jump SEVEN teams to get there and that's just too many. One of those 7 teams is going to play well from here on out. The trade deadline is quickly approaching and to have a chance they'd have to be buyers but they probably won't be within spitting distance by that point.

infinitebook Verified Member Posted June 18, 2025 Posted June 18, 2025 what happened there, did Vladdy pull up because he thought it was a walk, or cause he was out by alot?
gruber9292 Verified Member Posted June 18, 2025 Posted June 18, 2025 Kirk felt compelled to swing with Vladdy running. Normally he doesn't even sniff at that, should have been first and second with tons of damage potentially. Next inning.. neverbeenhere 1

All their eggs were in one basket counting on Kirk to make contact, which wasn't that bad a move considering. So yeah, out by a lot.
