Stangstag Old-Timey Member Posted May 7, 2025 Posted May 7, 2025 This team just completely erased whatever momentum we gained in that Redsox series. And now our 2 backend guys that were super reliable both suck. Hard being a fan of this team in 2025

The Orioles are 13-21 and -63. The only team with a worse run differential is the Rockies. -63! Stangstag, Terminator and BatFlip 2 1

It's frustrating as hell to watch this team even when they win games. A bad team with a top 5 payroll in baseball that also happens to be incredibly boring to watch. Not the best combo. leaffie 1

Even Espinal was a league average hitter that year. Better times. Then John Schneider didn't know how to manage in Game 2 of the WC round, the front office lost their collective minds, and here we are 3 painful/boring years later. Stangstag and Spanky99 2

Lol yeah, losing that WC game was a canon event for this org. The point where the timeline fractured.

Even tonight the stuff/command wasn’t as sharp. And now he just threw another 25 pitches. At this rate his arm will fall off by June. s*** happens when you're in close games mate, again he had 2 full days off, whether if it's fatigue or not he hasn't executed lately. Mind you, if Clement makes that play it's all moot. That's why we lost. F U Clement. Stangstag 1

I mean, it was so predictable the way things are going this year. Aren't we ready for the tear down? Middle of the pack with a high payroll, worst farm system, bad contracts, and no budget room is not exactly a good situation lol.

I've been asking for Atkins to be fired since 2023 and Shaprio to be fired after last year. The fact they're still here screams mediocrity and something I hope doesn't bleed into the Raptors/Leafs once Rogers has full control. xposbrad 1

Yeah floating around .500 with a lame duck front office is not the ideal scenario. Either way, this team isn't rebuilding/tearing down any time soon with the Vlad extension (combined with other moves that hit 2026-30 payroll). It's the definition of no man's land. I have no idea what a logical trade deadline even looks like if the team is selling because ownership is going to want a team with a chance to contend in 2026, and I don't want Atkins (or Shapiro if Rogers lets him go) handling it either way. Tough spot.
John_Havok Old-Timey Member Posted May 7, 2025 Posted May 7, 2025 Winning or losing, the team just isn't fun to watch. If they were losing games and still hitting bombs and making it feel like they were still in any game no matter what the score was, it would be at least entertaining. Right now, you know the pitching has to keep the opposition to 3 or fewer runs every game for any chance of winning because even if they do rattle off 15 hits, 13 will be singles that might score 2 runs because 9 of them will be followed by a double play ball, any leadoff double will be bunted to third and have 2 straight Ks or foul pop outs, and the last couple will be erased on the basepths because Vlad is a f***ing moron. Fundamental baseball is great when you need it for an insurance run, or a go ahead run or tying run late game when the bottom of the lineup is coming up, but right now the Jays are relying on it for nearly every run they score. It's inefficient and will never score many runs to begin with. Most Importantly though, it's boring as f*** to watch for 9 innings.

MLSE is even worse when it comes to wanting profit over good teams/championships. They would rather lose in the first round every year than start a rebuild lol. Look at the Raptors this last year. One bad half season and they gave up on a rebuild lol.
