Brock Beauchamp Site Manager Posted April 20, 2025 Posted April 20, 2025 I like how there are so many Castillos in baseball that "Castillo, L" isn't good enough. Even "Castillo, Luis" isn't good enough. More specificity is needed! jerb and Gen.Disarray 2
Laika Community Moderator Posted April 20, 2025 Posted April 20, 2025 Must win game Easton Lucas' career will be defined by this performance. I've never flip flopped on an opinion in my entire life, I still believe in Santa Spanky99 1
jaysblue Old-Timey Member Posted April 20, 2025 Posted April 20, 2025 Damn that sucks about Sandlin. Glad to see Barnes DFA finally haha
Gen.Disarray Old-Timey Member Posted April 20, 2025 Posted April 20, 2025 Hopefully Easter Lucas can resurrect the hype train. HomeRunHomer 1
Grant77 Old-Timey Member Posted April 20, 2025 Posted April 20, 2025 Our lack of bullpen depth is comical at this point. Call David Robertson, please. Spanky99 1

It was down last year and he sucked. If we see consistent 95 then I'll have some hope. Schultz couldn't even manage a FIP under 4 last year in the minor league and walks a bunch, so I'm not optimistic there. One of the many, many good minor league options that were available in the offseason would look awfully good on our roster.

One of the many, many good minor league options that were available in the offseason would look awfully good on our roster. Tate posted a 3.71 FIP/0.2 FWAR last season. That's perfectly cromulent for a depth relief arm. He's been striking out 10.5/9 innings in Buffalo with an 18.2% whiff rate so the stuff is likely decent this season. The team could really use a healthy/effective version of Swanson though as that would be a more effective replacement for the loss of Sandlin.

Jonn Old-Timey Member Posted April 20, 2025 Posted April 20, 2025 So they literally just Jacob Barnes get his ass torn apart yesterday just to DFA today. Makes sense. Almost like he shouldn’t have been put in that situation to begin with.

It's almost a blessing he got rocked so the game didn't go any further and completely annihilate the pen Stangstag and Spanky99 2
HomeRunHomer Verified Member Posted April 20, 2025 Posted April 20, 2025 It's all part of the plan for the Jays to use a s*** relievers arm before DFA'ing him. They will cycle through some more s*** arms this season. it's not a good plan but it's the plan. Jays24 1

Everyone didn't want Lovelady and Barnes on the roster to break camp so just took them a couple of blown games before coming to that realization sadly. Luckily they weren't kept around a lot longer to blow more games. Regardless, this is more about the pathetic offense than the backend of our bullpen. Stangstag 1
Masterbather Verified Member Posted April 20, 2025 Posted April 20, 2025 So what's the plan if this goes really off the rails?
HomeRunHomer Verified Member Posted April 20, 2025 Posted April 20, 2025 Well that was absolutely demolished.

Jays24 Old-Timey Member Posted April 20, 2025 Posted April 20, 2025 Are we back to 2023/2024 times where 3 runs against us in the 1st inning means game over or is this a new team? Stay tuned...
