He said he barely watched any hours.

So yeah not much of a fan

This f***ing team has been horrible to watch since 2023, even the year we were winning.  Then 2024 happened and the team became completely unwatchable.  This doesn't make you not a fan, you just have standards of what you will waste your time on in life lol.

I'm still good with them gambling.  This team needed to take a big risk.  Can't play it safe given the position we're in.

Signing Tony Taters and Moncada isn't going to take this team anywhere anyway.

The clock is ticking for starting pitcher Roki Sasaki to decide which MLB team to sign with.

On a recent edition of MLB Hot Stove on MLB Network, two analysts revealed what they believe the chances are that Sasaki does not join the Los Angeles Dodgers. The reigning World Series champions are viewed as the frontrunners for Sasaki.

Analyst Matt Vasgerian settled on a 50 percent chance. Meanwhile, analyst

Because I'm hoping they make moves that will allow me to watch my favorite team with excitement?

Why do you think I've been bitching about the team and its moves over the last few years with many of the regular folks here thinking I was crazy lol.

I mean they took on a bad contract to get a $2M international prospect. Something a rebuilding team with money should do anyway. I guess.

Way to go Ross...

Jays are like a drowning man grasping at Straws.

....sorry had to say it.

Ross is excited about the possibility of giving himself a chance to think about potentially making it a realistic scenario in which he ends his own life

Man, that's dark.

Atkins is at home tonight watching WW2 films about the USA dropping atomic bombs on Japan.

That's not cool. He's clearly at home watching Godzilla movies. He's thinking about maybe considering the possibility of cheering for Ghidorah.

This is embarrassing if true.  How is it that other orgs had a line on this and not the Jays?

When/if Atkins ever gets released by the Jays, he will never get another opportunity as gm of another team.  Well maybe if the Angels come calling.

I miss reading Olerud363 off the wall posts.  I'm sure he would post a screed on this shitshow.

It's frustrating, but I don't really understand why people are calling for a cap. Sasaki didn't sign with the Dodgers for the money, he signed with them because they're a world class organization. There are a ton of things Toronto could do to make themselves competitive under the current climate, but they don't do them because they're run by idiots.

The f*** is the point of this any more, if the Dodgers just get to horde every f***ing good player they want?

You knew it was coming but it still pisses a guy off.

Ridiculous

Two prime aged aces in two off seasons from Japan,  plus Snell and they haven't even put Ohtani on the mound yet.

You didn’t watch the first 4-5 AA years then I guess? Because those years were also quite s***.

This team has been an exciting/playoff contender for the last while minus 2024.

2010: Blue Jays went 85-77 shockingly haha. Breakout season from Jose Bautista, Wells with a solid bounce back season. Great season after the disastrous 2009 season. Strong rotation with Ricky Romero building off his rookie season, Shaun Marcum coming back from injury and an impressive first season from Brandon Morrow with the Jays. Even Brett Cecil had a solid year out of the rotation.

2011: 81-81 not bad. Bautista 8 WAR season; Yunel solid first season in Toronto; Brett Lawrie makes his MLB debut and rakes. Solid years again from Ricky Romero and Brandon Morrow. Casey Janssen solid first year as closer.

2012: 73-89. Romero started to suck; Henderson Alvarez was awful; Jose Bautista only played 92 games; Yunel s*** the bed; Lawrie didn't really blossom. Breakout season from EE however.

2013: 74-88. Exciting offseason but a lot of trades backfired. Dickey wasn't in Cy Young form, Josh Johnson missed most of the season; Morrow got injured. Rasmus had a solid year haha.

2014: 83-79. Improvement from 2013, but still fell short of expectations. Stroman came on the scene and was really solid. Hutchison also wasn't that bad. Bautista and EE had awesome years, and Melky had a great year as well. Lawrie disappointed.

I mean overall, the 2012 and 2013 seasons were s***. In 2010 and 2011, Jays actually weren't that bad. In 2014, they were meh. It wasn't like 4-5 years of awful baseball.

Generally agree with that summary.  Spot on.  Then throw the 2015 season, which started slow and was generally frustrating and disappointing as it felt like they were better than their record suggested - and then we made some aggressive moves to add talent and everything clicks and were left with one of the most incredible seasons in Blue Jays history - albeit one that came up short in extremely frustrating fashion.

From a Jays fan perspective, this is the second best outcome. The Dodgers are supplanting the Yankees as MLB's team to beat. The AL East is losing strength to the NL West and NL East.
