Yeah, just read it. Who reported that? This suxxxx, also, IKF should shut it, before the team announces anything.

Adding fuel to the fire is a report that Bo is seeking a second opinion on his knee.

Egad... it's a PCL injury, no bueno.

Blue Jays beat reported Keegan Matheson reported the news. And it was IKF who made the quote about Bo's knee, not Gimenez.

Bo's injury seems bad and going for second opinions doesn't sound like a normal part of the process to me.

He might be able to play, depends on the grade of the strain.

If Santander can manage to get his left and right handed swings up to par before the end of the season he could be a candidate to hit 2nd.

I think we should all proceed with the view that if we get anything from Santander this year, it's a f*cking miracle.

Austin Wells should be suspended for the remainder of the 2025 season, playoffs included

We need a complete and total shutdown of this guy gloating over injuries he is causing until we can figure out what the hell is going on

I seriously doubt that. Bo already displayed limited mobility in the field with two healthy legs, and I see no way he could perform up his capabilities at the plate either with a bum knee.

I think I misread your post to mean that Bo could play through the injury vs potentially being able to return at some point in the season/post season.

Yeah, I mean at some point down the road.

I originally thought that Bo was making the injury out to be worse the it was to try to prevent further injury going into a contract year, but now I think it's bad! If he misses the entire season and playoffs this could really affect his next contract with the injury uncertainty. His legs are already in question with the drastic drop in sprint speed this year and now a potential bad knee injury. Who is gonna want to take gamble on an injury prone player?

What makes him injury prone?

Just reading through some of the articles, and listening to the talking heads last night makes me believe that Bo feels ready to play, despite some results of imaging and other diagnostics, and they want to confirm he can't hurt himself anymore by playing ASAP with the information from a second opinion. At least I hope that is the case. I guess we will find out soon enough.

His 10 day IL stint is up tomorrow so the timing seems right.  Schneider keeps saying he feels better than the imaging shows so I think you're right about his desire to play.  Getting him back and swinging that bat sooner than later is huge, no matter what some people keep saying about his defense and sprint speed.

I don't get that impression. I think there is a real fear from Bo's camp that playing on a wonky knee may inflict further damage and thus jeopardize his free agent marketability. The second opinion in Dallas is likely to confirm that if he plays (dh) it won't do further damage. That is how I perceive what's going on. Who knows?

Yeah but the way he plays defense... he's way more likely to hurt the knee on the basepaths. So DH or as George would say "Offensive Player" isn't a huge decrease in the injury risk.

Stakeholders 1 and 3 want Bo to play, obviously.

Stakeholder 2 has almost no interest in Bo playing if there is even a small risk of the low-grade knee sprain (stretch or tear of the Patella ligament, it sounds like) getting worse.

This is the kind of injury that can be aggravated into surgery. Like, a mild sprain that would get better with a month or rest and recovery can become a full tear. Huge financial risk for Bo the Human Commodity, to play at all. Since he has already locked in a "star" season in 2025 and proven he is an offensive force entering FA.

I think people underestimate how much Bo wants to win and wants to win in Toronto.  He'll do what it takes to be part of a playoff run.

There is also a part of Bo the Human Commodity that thinks if he comes back and is a playoff hero, it will make a significant difference for his appeal in free agency.

There is truth to this. Whether it makes sense or not, some GMs/owners care about this stuff.

Bo's defense and sprint speed was bad when he was healthy. If he comes back in time for the playoffs then he shouldn't even touch a glove. Put him at DH and work around that. If Tony also comes back then the OF defense would take a massive hit (Springer and Tony in the corners) but it's still the best lineup they could put out there.

Springer is fine as a corner OFer, he still has the speed/glove to make plays.  It's santandar who is the clear downgrade defensively.

I expect him to be batting 6th/7th upon his return if Bo's back.  At that point, you can debate whether youre better served with him as a pinch hitter since it'll only be a difference of around 2 ABs and take the much better defense from Lukes for most of the game.
