Didn't see LA getting Diaz.  This sends Sasaki back into the rotation - well at lest until Skubal is announced :D

Tanner Scott had 9 blown saves last season (0 in 2024), assuming he returns to form he gets the 8th and Diaz the 9th.  Huge get for LA

I still can't wrap my head around having a talent like Skubal and not wanting to pay him. At least when Halladay left here, it was because he was fed up with a decade of mediocrity. He didn't want to stay here. But I think Skubal would stay in Detroit for market value. They just don't want to pay him.

The Tigers aren't going to be good next year, and that makes me happy because f*** the Tigers

it could work out for them though depending on what they're getting from LA.  They are rich in good prospects and major league talent

Kyle Finnegan back to the Tigers - 2 years $19M

Detroit basically reinvented how he pitched and he was excellent for it. Good deal for both sides.

He has to be happy with the results he had in Detroit and he has a path to save opportunities if he performs and they want to use Vest in the fireman role.  This one seemed like a no doubter.

Alonso, who turned 31 over the weekend, famously rejected a reported seven-year, $158MM extension offer from the Mets back in 2023. He drew a fair bit of criticism for that decision, particularly when his market didn’t develop as hoped during last offseason’s initial foray into free agency. He wound up returning to the Mets on a two-year, $54MM deal that was frontloaded with a $30MM salary in 2025 and allowed him to opt back into free agency this winter. Between that $30MM, the $20.5MM he earned in his final season of arbitration eligibility and the newly promised $155MM from the Orioles, Alonso will end up with $205.5MM over the same seven years that would’ve been covered under the extension offer he turned down.

After year 2, so it essentially gave them flexibility in the first two years after Ohtani signed.

Its not the actual dollar flexibility they care about, the Dodgers could spend 600 million on payroll and still he fine,  it was the reduction in CBT hit from 70m to whatever it ended up being. The specific amount of dollar savings was always a minor issue at best

Orioles offense has been given two large boosts

Will the starting rotation suck?  Hopefully

Its actually good to see the Os spending money, and spending big money.

two?  what was the other one?

Taylor Ward whom they got from the angels

If Gunner gets back into form they could have the best offense in the league with a heart of the line up of Gunner, Hard, Alonso thats 120 HR potential there.

Holiday, Westburg, Mayo, Rutschman are not bad either and Holiday/Westburg could put it all together any year now and start becoming 30 HR guys too.

AL east just got.tougher
