I like how the Jays were down 9-2 but JS still let Bo and Varsho hit in the 9th rather than letting Jimenez and Berroa get plate appearances. The 2nd half of the season without any meaningful trades to free up playing time is going to feel like an eternity.

I think they basically just wanted to give them one more AB since they're both in funks so it's a low stakes time to sort of work on stuff. And as for Leo, maybe they wanted to give him a proper start so his family could be in attendance? Kind of s***** to make your debut as a pinch hitter with no one watching.
