The 2nd half of the season without any meaningful trades to free up playing time is going to feel like an eternity.

I think they basically just wanted to give them one more AB since they're both in funks so it's a low stakes time to sort of work on stuff. And as for Leo, maybe they wanted to give him a proper start so his family could be in attendance? Kind of s***** to make your debut as a pinch hitter with no one watching.
