Jays24 Old-Timey Member Posted June 14, 2024 Posted June 14, 2024 Why do we even bother going with all righties against lefties when we still suck. Just put out your best hitting team, which means Horowitz plays regardless.

Just put out your best hitting team, which means Horowitz plays regardless. Horwitz has really pronounced lefty/righty splits in AAA the last two seasons. He's essentially a slap hitter vs left handed pitching so I have zero issues with starting him on the bench for the game. Turner and Clement have both hit very well against left handed pitching this season. Horwitz can still provide some offense off of the bench later in the game in a more favorable matchup.

Ya I get the logic obviously but I'd just prefer rolling with hot hands and players who are showing they deserve more playing time. I've always been in favour of playing hot players over what they've done in the past since not every player is the same currently from what they may have shown in the past. Guess that's the difference between being data driven at all times and letting your eyes dictate who plays in some situations. *shrugs
glory Old-Timey Member Posted June 14, 2024 Posted June 14, 2024 Barger hit LHP well in the minors over the past 3 seasons. He probably doesn't need to be platooned, but after how they treated DS in April, they probably aren't looking at splits.
wilko Old-Timey Member Posted June 14, 2024 Posted June 14, 2024 Is Anthony Bass throwing out the first pitch?

Eat My Shatkins Verified Member Posted June 14, 2024 Posted June 14, 2024 I feel like the Guardians are what the jays should be right now if so many of the underperforming (or cooked in some cases) players were actually hitting their projections. If Bo had 2-3 WAR right now, Vlad had 2-3 WAR right now, Springer and Kirk could still hit, Gausman was 23-24 level Gausman and the bullpen was doing what it did last year. If, if, if, if, if..... Hopefully they can get some wins. Gonna be tough.
Terminator Old-Timey Member Posted June 14, 2024 Posted June 14, 2024 We can beat these guys. They are playing way above their talent level right now and I like the pitching matchups for us. Also, tonight is Pride night and the boys will no doubt be fired up to deliver a big W for the crowd. Nothing will get a team fired up like slapping a couple of rainbows on the jerseys and scoreboard. Easy win tonight.
Laika Community Moderator Posted June 14, 2024 Posted June 14, 2024 Pride night is normally when Bo starts to get hot
Terminator Old-Timey Member Posted June 14, 2024 Posted June 14, 2024 I can see it. Bo and his magnificent hair flowing through the wind as he runs wild on the bases all night with both rainbows and an adoring crowd as the backdrop. Get him in your DraftKings lineups fellas, he's going to have a big game.

Laika Community Moderator Posted June 14, 2024 Posted June 14, 2024 Vlad PA perfect example of why this team is worse than the sum of its parts The first two guys saw like 3 pitches total. You have to take a few and work a longer PA there...

Spanky99 Old-Timey Member Posted June 14, 2024 Posted June 14, 2024 Gausman's velo is way down. Woof...
hanton Old-Timey Member Posted June 14, 2024 Author Posted June 14, 2024 Gausman is lucky Nailor didn't park that...
Spanky99 Old-Timey Member Posted June 15, 2024 Posted June 15, 2024 Damn, man... why can't that ball fall in.
Jays24 Old-Timey Member Posted June 15, 2024 Posted June 15, 2024 Glad we got all the righties in the lineup lol. Also, reminder to renew your season tix asap to watch this beautiful product in person
june.june Verified Member Posted June 15, 2024 Posted June 15, 2024 Guillermo Martinez is still around, unreal. Any organization would have already fire him but not Atkins and the Blue Jays. Team is the worse based on GIDP
Steeljays Verified Member Posted June 15, 2024 Posted June 15, 2024 Past week or so there have been some roster moves to push the offense but I don't think anything moves the needle until a front office or coaching change is made. this organization just seems lost.
Spanky99 Old-Timey Member Posted June 15, 2024 Posted June 15, 2024 KG might have some underlying injury, these no show Velo games he gets rocked.
Laika Community Moderator Posted June 15, 2024 Posted June 15, 2024 Logan Allen more walks than Ks and mediocre stuff and the Jays are just hopeless

Top down, all need to go. Can't think of many other front offices that get this long of a leash. Based on the current product on the field and what we got in our farm system, fire them all.

May it be a Fortune 500 company or a mere Fast Food chain, there is accountability and repercussions based on poor performance and this organization has none. Sad.
