Biggio makes the 1st play of the game on a slow dribbler to 3b charges it and makes the throw but runner was safe, a base hit

He's gone hanton. It's going to hurt for a bit, but let him go.

Lol I feel that will be a disaster for them

he'll settle in to a utility role - they don't need him to be a star

Just sayin I dont think he has the chops to play 3B

Dodgers optioned Vargas and with Mucny still out that means .....

Biggio will play

Is Vargas at least not a little intriguing? This is like the Jays blocking dudes for Biggio. Maybe Lux is out of options. Seems he should’ve been first

average arm so yea

If the Dodgers get Bo the entire left side will be made up of former blue jays ;)

Getting under the tax and resetting the penalties would definitely be a priority if they are selling at the deadline. It should probably be a priority regardless since this team isn’t worth the penalties that they will incur for being over the threshold, but no one is taking Kk and Turner’s contracts so it would be difficult to do that without trading the pieces that are actually valuable (Kikuchi, Garcia, etc).

Turner, probably not, but KK can be dealt with some cash. Elite OF D and speed always has a place on a contender. Savings likely wouldnt be tremendous, but could get some lottery ticket back

He struggled so they only played him vs lefties and as a natural infielder he also struggled in LF. He'll probably be fine long term - the Dodgers can afford to experiment like this, Outman is an outstanding CF but he's also in AAA after struggling with the bat

I mean, he was up 3.5 weeks and started 6 games lol. 13ABs against RHP. Last year he wasn’t good but had normal splits in small sample. It’s a good world to be a LAD or NYY fan.

Biggio error, Seager bomb

So Teo and Biggio both had errors and their team lost...are we sure they know they were traded?

Maybe but ultimately if the team wants to get under the tax, then they’ll have to start trading actual good players. The ones that need to be moved (Turner, KK, Springer, etc) won’t have any value or cost saving potential (maybe a bit with KK if his bat bounces back). I’d look to move Chad Green as well but he might be more of a 2025 trade piece as i don’t think the $10m he’s owed next season is going to be viewed as an asset by other teams, though maybe I’m wrong on that.

Dave Roberts on Biggio (before yesterdays game)

"Our hitting guys dug in a little bit and felt that there's some things we can unlock (in) him offensively."

probably easier to fix his bat than his glove

Swinging at strike 3 when it is right down the middle of the plate would be a good start

Nothing really wrong with his glove. It's about average for his career and had been trending up over the past 3 seasons. The only thing to really fix is the borderline comatose plate approach.
