Don't get me wrong, I am worried but the season is far from over. Success can be contagious and there is a path to better days for this team. Vlad's putting up some good numbers, Bo's coming around and we know he can carry a team when he goes on a heater. Turner either turns it around or gets replaced by a Horwitz or Barger who could spark life into the lineup. Once the bats get going a bit, the RPs will not be pitching in high leverage nearly every pitch and that should hopefully help them out a bit. And if none of that happens, at least we will be rid of Atkins

Wow that's surprisingly reasonable for the ship is sinking thread. Very well stated though. If the team and offense in particular is actually as bad over a full season as they've been early on it's fully time to clean house in management. It will be important to bring in a new set of people with fresh ideas to determine where everything went off of the rails and how to fix the mess moving forward.

why do you say ARO

nobody else says ARO

LOL. I never would have noticed if you didn't point out.

I'm in Growth and deal in large deals every day. In our business in each deal its "ARO" - annual revenue estimate. I mean AAV but just so used to typing out "ARO". Embarrassing. thx for pointing out.

AA was on the Fan today talking with Blair and Barker. He was asked about which metrics they use to determine how strong the team is and whether or not they should "add or sell" as you approach the deadline. Specifically referencing 2021 when the Braves were below .500 near August and also referencing the 2015 Blue Jays.

He essentially said "run differential" - that's it. If the wins aren't where you want them to be, but you have a good run differential, you're optimistic things are going to turn around and even out. It's a sign your team has been unlucky and that if you can fill a couple of holes, things can turn around quickly. He said if you're run differential is poor "like -10, -20" then you're not going to be nearly as optimistic and it should change your mindset.

We're -45, which is 3rd worst in the AL, 5th worst in baseball.

The greatest GM in the history of beisbol has spoken. We're f***ed. Start the rebuild now.

I'm sure the brass understand this glaring observation Brownie, it's what they do from here is what is more telling. Be better. Listening to lip service is glorious coming out your mouth, sir. Isn't this what you preach?

This wasn't media talk - it was a pretty candid opinion offered up by AA. I thought it was interesting insight. A lot of people around here regularly gag on AA's big meaty dong, so I know they want to hear him confirm this team blows.

The run differential might look a lot different after tonight's game is over.

Great interview. Seriously more out of that 10-15 mins from AA of substance then I have heard from Ross in 8-9 yrs. Not hyperbole.

AA also talked about EV and how you will always hit ground balls with more velocity. So you need to look at contact rate and ground ball % etc and not live and die by EV.

Fnnn really good interview and spot on!

You gotta link for this interview?

Dude - they aren't. That's the point.

Ok thanks. Can't say I can definitively say one way or another how the rest of the season will unfold but winning a series for the first time in forever is at least a small step.

But for some reason I misread it and thought it was Atkins that gave the interview. Don't really care what a GM of another team thinks right now plus I get daily AA updates from his Fanboys anyway

You’re welcome

Ya no for sure I’m not really interested in hearing what good teams have to say either

"Ya no for sure I’m not"

When did this "yeah no" vernacular start? It makes no goddamn sense. Usually I just see the standard "Yeah, no" and that's bad enough but you really went above and beyond there with a ya, no, ya, no.

Anyway, it has nothing to do with AA or a winning team. Sports interviews are often some of the most boring and dull out there, especially when it's people in the game.

If I could get a head count on team not panicking that would be great. Is it just Randy and Jim Lahey left?

I'm still team not panicking at this point. If the team doesn't put together a decent run against this weaker opposition then the death certificate that most of the fanbase wants to sign may actually be warranted.

Nobody wants to sign it. You’re speaking in hyperbole

They’re 2-1 to start the weaker opponent slate. 7 games left against the Tigers and White Sox. What’s a decent little run in your view?

17 games through June 9. Detroit, White Sox, Pirates, Baltimore, Oakland

11-6 would put the Jays a game over .500

Weird, or What???

Your body is riddled with estrogen. It’s over, mate. Get your Iowa Caitlin Clark gear and leave the Jays behind. Keyboard warrior or bjmb Pomeranian. I know which one it is
