Terminator Old-Timey Member Posted April 10, 2024 Author Posted April 10, 2024 A few interesting lineup decisions. Biggio is batting 5th. At this rate he'll be in the two hole before the ASB. Kirk is catching the day game after a night game. Serven was awful in that Yankee game he started but it's still surprising to see them ride Kirk to this degree. Varsho is batting 9th even with KK in the lineup.

They already have a great defensive CF, and Varsho is miscast as a LF offensively anyway so the club is better off with Schneider in LF. Seems more logical than an already overweight dude having to catch everyday because the current backup wouldn’t start on an independent league team.

Serven looks completely overwhelmed compared to what I'm used to seeing from Kirk. Unfortunately, their bats look comparable. I like the team riding Kirk like this early in the year though. We have an off day tomorrow and when Jansen is back Kirk's workload will get cut plenty.

At the same time, if you think Varsho's bat is bad now, imagine him splitting his time between CF and backup catching. He probably wouldn't hit one line drive in the month of April.

He probably wouldn't hit one line drive in the month of April. Yeah it was tempting to play him as the 3rd Catcher for 15 games or so when he was a 110 wRC+ bat. If he's hitting 85 wRC+ there's not much point. Just take the elite OF defense instead.
Terminator Old-Timey Member Posted April 10, 2024 Author Posted April 10, 2024 How the hell did we lose to these guys in the playoffs They are trash

Orgfiller Old-Timey Member Posted April 10, 2024 Posted April 10, 2024 It's not sustainable but glad to see Cavan at least hit a little looping pop up as opposed to just taking a pitch right in the zone for strike 3.
Orgfiller Old-Timey Member Posted April 10, 2024 Posted April 10, 2024 Kirkkkkkkkkkkk been so useless His swing path is broken. He used to hit so many line drives all over the place, now he just rolls it over all the time
RotatorCuff Verified Member Posted April 10, 2024 Posted April 10, 2024 Kirkkkkkkkkkkk been so useless i think he's catching too many games with jansen out, and its affecting his stick.
