I'm sure if you told him to stfu as part of a MLB deal he'd take it. Sucks for the whites for being able to speak English then... who would have thought the society would reach that point lol.

He definitely wouldn’t. He hasn’t learned yet. Even got booted out of Japan for being a raging douchenozzle.

Main problem with Bauer is that while he was seemingly vindicated in his main sexual assault case, he still has several others that are pending, including one that was filed earlier this year. No team is going to sign him under those circumstances.

Yeah, that ship has sailed long ago.

Backup catcher is probably 10th on their list of holes to fill this off-season. Let's hope Jano's market crashes for that.

I really doubt that happens, Jano >> Higashioka, you might get a deal out of Grandal for a year on the cheap.

Also i’d say sexual assault crimes are seen as more heinous than regular physical assault.

People acting like Bauer = every other domestic dispute case is exhausting.

Is this guy any good? Or do the usual caveats apply?

usual caveats = if we sign him he's good, if another team signs him he sucks

I suspect he falls under the typical issue....he can't hit.

A 118 wRC+ with an ISO of .132 in the KBO typically means he'll hit like Ryan Goins in the majors doesn't it? I mean if he's Ozzie Smith defensively, that could work I guess.

For comparison, Ha-Seong Kim had a 141 wRC+ and a .218 ISO in his last year in the KBO and his a career 101 wRC+, .380 SLG% hitter in the majors.

He seems like a carbon copy of IKF

Francys Romero says the Padres are the favourites to sign Roki Sasaki.

He’s signing with the Dodgers

Hopefully he doesn't sign with the same team that Ha-Seong Kim signs with.

Apparently this guy is legit

Figured he'd re-sign with them. That guy covers the Dodgers, he's legit.

Carlos Baerga reporting the same thing...and yea no surprise if he does resign with the LA. Baerga is saying it will happen tonight

Incoming 100 million deal for Teo

Santander gonna be way overpayed if Teo signs with the Dodgers first

Will see how much Teo signs with the Dodgers for. Maybe he accepts a discount to sign back there.

Regardless, with Teo off the board, benefits Santander and he'll use Teo's deal as a benchmark. If Teo get close to $100M, Santander asks for more.

Jays might have to pivot to Plan B or C and start looking at guys like Tyler O'Neill or Joc Pederson. That's the reality if guys like Santander are going to get $100M or so.

Would rather spend extra money signing someone like Bregman or Adames before handing Santander $100M.

I really want Santander, but 100 million would be the absolute limit and i wouldn't even feel comfortable going there.

Noooooo... just one less option when Soto signs elsewhere :(

It seemed inevitable that Teoscar was going to do everything in his power to remain a Dodger. I recall a post world series interview when he said as much, so it wouldn't surprise me much if he took a bit of club friendly deal to stay in Los Angeles.

For sure... we had our chance to pick him up last year when his value was low and he didn't come with a pick attached to him.

I for one would have been fine with giving Teoscar something like a two year deal where the second year was a club option if that would have been sufficient to get him signed. It seems as though he made the smart choice in betting on himself and taking the best 1 year deal he was able to secure.

I would have been ok with a 3/45 last year with no options. He had enough of a track record to bet on, especially for this franchise. It was a poor decision not to bring him back last year, which I called out at the time.

Fisher predictably spending money the second the A's officially leave Oakland.

Good news is, the market has made Chris Bassitt very tradable (even though they won't move him). Bad news is, the Jays better be prepared to flirt with a payroll between $275-300m if they actually want to improve the team this winter. Market is looking expensive.

Luis Severino is signing for the largest guarantee in the history of the Athletics franchise.

Not a great outcome for the Jays. That's a decent arm off the board for all of the good teams with money to spend. Though I didn't want Severino anyway.

The sheer size of that deal is a bad omen for the Jays. Severino got Chris Bassitt money and he projects for less than 2 WAR next year.

They are going to need to pick and choose which holes to fill and some are going to simply remain open.

I know the A's are the A's, but it's really something that that contract is their largest guarantee in franchise history. And it's to Severino.

Hopefully the market will protect the Jays from themselves. Their whole plan of action here is so stupid and short-sighted.

Yeah heaven forbid the team has a successful offseason and can enjoy more years of success instead of an immediate rebuild, that would be positively awful.

It's shortsighted. Free agency is best utilized for finishing touches not rebuilding your team on the fly with high dollar contracts for players going into their 30s. It will ultimately set the team back and make the path to actual winning that much longer.

I have no problem signing low risk/high reward contracts, maybe guys coming off of injuries. If it works out they're movable at the deadline for more assets to build going forward. That should be our free agency play.
