Carlos Danger Old-Timey Member Posted July 14, 2024 Posted July 14, 2024 Hunter Harvey to the Royals! Yup. Great acquisition by the Royals.
hanton Old-Timey Member Posted July 14, 2024 Posted July 14, 2024 interesting the nats moved him 2 and half weeks before the tdl, great move though by kc
connorp Old-Timey Member Posted July 14, 2024 Posted July 14, 2024 Didn’t realize Ohtani up to 23 swipes. Monster. Though, it seems inevitable in the next 10 years we’re going to see some players get a crack at it. The kid from Florida Gators better shot than other recent tries.
Abomination Old-Timey Member Posted July 14, 2024 Posted July 14, 2024 Yup. Great acquisition by the Royals. Nick Anderson was designated. He'd be a good waiver claim for us IMO. Controllable for next year too.
hanton Old-Timey Member Posted July 14, 2024 Posted July 14, 2024 Yankees / Orioles early game today on Roku, Soto is mic'd up and they interviewing him during the play - which is interesting in itself after what happened with Kike a few weeks ago
hanton Old-Timey Member Posted July 14, 2024 Posted July 14, 2024 Good exchange.... Sotto on why he swings the way he does (announcer called it "flat") and his thoughts on launch angle "I've been doing my stuff and it's been working since day 1, why should I change; I just stay the same way I just try to be plane to the ball....that's what I try to do"
hanton Old-Timey Member Posted July 14, 2024 Posted July 14, 2024 OH MY....what a finish to this game. Orioles walk it off after an error by Volpe and then with Mullins pinch hitting he hits a fly ball to Verdugo who miss judged the ball, tried to recover then slipped and it went over his head...

Lollll i’ll have to watch the highlights of that

Stangstag Old-Timey Member Posted July 15, 2024 Posted July 15, 2024 Verdugo you oaf!!:p Dude gets 4 days off to sit and stew on that play haha
Jimcanuck Old-Timey Member Posted July 15, 2024 Posted July 15, 2024 Verdugo you oaf!!:p Volpe botched the far easier play
Omar Old-Timey Member Posted July 15, 2024 Posted July 15, 2024 Volpe botched the far easier play Yeah but that one didn't end the game. When the other team walks you off and you're left spread eagled face down on the turf, well that is memorable, not in a good way. Maybe his gold chains were weighing him down:confused:
connorp Old-Timey Member Posted July 15, 2024 Posted July 15, 2024 I don’t see draft thread again. Are people panning that 2nd round pick, or what? The nerds down with that? I’m not feeling it

jaysblue Old-Timey Member Posted July 18, 2024 Posted July 18, 2024 Haven't the last two days sucked without baseball?
Spanky__99 Old-Timey Member Posted July 18, 2024 Posted July 18, 2024 Haven't the last two days sucked without baseball? ASB suxxxxxxxx...
Abomination Old-Timey Member Posted July 19, 2024 Posted July 19, 2024 Haven't the last two days sucked without baseball? They would have if the team wasn't playing like s***.
Spanky__99 Old-Timey Member Posted July 19, 2024 Posted July 19, 2024 They would have if the team wasn't playing like s***. Yo, the ASB suxxxxxx... I miss real baseball, thank god the OPEN is on.
L54 Old-Timey Member Posted July 19, 2024 Posted July 19, 2024 But why??? This is a good thing, dude.
Spanky__99 Old-Timey Member Posted July 19, 2024 Posted July 19, 2024 This is a good thing, dude. Sure, I guess for Wilson. I think they should've just started him next season in March, he's a legit ROY candidate. No bueno.

Laika Community Moderator Posted July 19, 2024 Posted July 19, 2024 Sure, I guess for Wilson. I think they should've just started him next season in March, he's a legit ROY candidate. No bueno. The ROY gamble is pretty remote. Wilson apparently has below average pop so he's not a sure thing star. 6.4 seasons of him might be better than 6 plus that tiny ROY bonus pick gamble. Also the whole marketing argument. As "fans" need something to come watch other than their closer.
connorp Old-Timey Member Posted July 19, 2024 Posted July 19, 2024 It’s actually nice to see somebody just make the call instead of trying to juice the orange dry Yeah, see what you got. They’re ready, they’re ready. May help guys like Holliday that come up and struggle. Come back to ST the next year working on what they needed to.
