Acuna left today's game with what looked like a serious injury to the knee that wasn't hurt a couple years ago. Starting to think that these guys should take time off instead of going home and playing Winter League

He really seems like a guy that won’t age well at all. Both knees f***ed already at age 26.

 

As much as we hate on Vlad, Acuna’s season to season stats are an absolute roller coaster even without considering the missed time to injuries.

Heck look at the numbers Joey Bart has put up with the Pirates in limited time. Could have been had for nothing as well at the end of ST.

 

4 HR, 12 RBI and a .267/.362/.517 slashline with a 149 wRC+ and 0.6 fWAR in 21 games.

 

Imagine complaining the Jays didn't trade for Joey Bart.

Steadily building his HOF case. Peak is going to be HOF worthy at least.

Where am I complaining exactly? Did I even mention the Blue Jays in my post?

 

I was responding to Connors post. He mentioned Jo Addell and I said that Joey Bart, who also was a top prospect coming up but who has never lived up to the hype, has put up great numbers as well to start this season.

 

Both have been good stories in the early part of 2024.

I also guarantee you that if Atkins acquired Joey Bart, Brownie would be saying how it was such a brilliant move and how Atkins and the FO saw something in him and developed a former top prospect to reach his full potential etc.

Wild that the Rays are only 2 games under 500 with everything that's broken wrong for them this season.

Yeah but I think it was like that all last year too. I’m not by any means suggesting advance stats don’t mean anything, but you can’t keep calling things a fluke for 2 years

Eloy Jimenez is another one of those dudes…worst player in fantasy baseball to ever own.. between injury and subpar performance, expecting those red lines to mean something. I did just check Andrew Vaughn, who used to have a lot of red while a .750 OPS guy and you thought breakout, at least it’s now all blue where it should be

Yeah. I think he’s more likely than not to make the hall at this point. He just needs to not completely implode in the next couple seasons.

His career reminds me of Chase Utley a bit...difference is Utley didn't start as early as Ramirez.
