connorp Old-Timey Member Posted January 21, 2024 Posted January 21, 2024 He probably accidentally ordered a 14 year old wife. He might of assumed she was older from the listing. 16 is legal is literally 50% of the US. If you can’t say a 16yo can be sexually attractive is some cases, it’s bc you’re PC and/or you have low T. It’s called jailbait in states where it’s 18. At hand too is a 21yo half man and not some 42yo. Creepy factor 20x less

Creepy factor 20x less I think one thing you’re overlooking with your whole “maybe the 14-year old was hot” line of thinking is that it seems clear he was attracted to her because she wasn’t mentally mature and he liked the power imbalance. He wanted to mold a literal kid.
Jimcanuck Old-Timey Member Posted January 21, 2024 Posted January 21, 2024 Probably several thousand 21 yr olds had sex with a 14 yr old in the USA last night. If Franco was not a MLB star, nothing happens to him. He apparently was well aware of the significant risk given his stature, and went down this road anyway. The DR special investigations unit tasked with dealing with child sex abuse was happy to make him their No. 1 target and further their objectives. Franco may or may not be a true pedo, but he deserves whatever is coming to him.
Jimcanuck Old-Timey Member Posted January 21, 2024 Posted January 21, 2024 I mean, he's a baseball star making millions. Wasn't there a fresh 18 yr old available to give him his jollies? Just bloody stupidity.

He wanted to mold a literal kid. And he’s likely going to jail for it. And maybe never play baseball again and if he did get another chance, you think he’d take the chance again, just for the sake of having some chick he can mold? Even Bauer is giving up legal rough sex lol

You can tell he knew the risks by some texts but I’m not sure he truly understood what kind of fire he was as playing with. My opinion of course
connorp Old-Timey Member Posted January 21, 2024 Posted January 21, 2024 Like he said “I could get in trouble with my team”.. lol. Called into the managers office and scolded? How about I may never be able to play mlb again

Just bloody stupidity. I doubt he scouted her from a school playground. I vividly remember this 15yo girl that looked like a future supermodel that got into the local college watering hole, 25 cent draft thing. I was 20 I think. I thought she was my age when I first met her. Anyways, I never did anything with her but know guys who did.
John_Havok Old-Timey Member Posted January 21, 2024 Author Posted January 21, 2024 I meant a specific player. I think NFL gave Colin K some money bc they were on the wrong side of the media but never admitted guilt. It’s about not signing Player X bc of the negative attention he may bring. So now you have Bauer, Bonds, etc. I mean most teams it’s hard to say they couldn’t use Bauer. But if you say he’s not worth the headache, can’t do much. Proving collusion against a single player is extremely difficult. But even in baseball, look at Barry Bonds. When he “retired” after his 2007 age 42 season he was still absolutely lethal as a hitter. Yeah he couldn’t play the field very well and was only around 400 PA, but he could have still easily been a DH in the AL. The Giants even announced publicly before the season was even over they would not be offering him a deal for 2008. That was the most obvious case where the entire league just agreed to not offer him a contract where there would be never a way to prove it. Bonds knew what what was happening so he just retired instead.

He specifically mentioned being able to “make her into the woman he wants her to be”. So he was definitely looking for someone underage and controllable/groomable

So he was definitely looking for someone underage and controllable/groomable Yeah, I meant he initially probably met her another way. Send an attractive/developed 14yo that looks 18yo to a frat party and I’d wager she ends up having sex that night if she’s willing. The difference being it’s doubtful many, if any, continue the relationship.

connorp Old-Timey Member Posted January 21, 2024 Posted January 21, 2024 The part you keep ignoring is that he knew she was 14 Listen, we both agree on the issue up to a certain point. It’s not behavior that’s in any way acceptable or ok. It’s a criminal act that deserves jail. We differ on what punishment should look like. And admittedly we differ in that I see Jared from Subway and Wander in a different way. I’d be ok and fully support the death penalty for Jared. Seems you view Wander like that and that’s for you to feel how you feel

That’s where you and I see differently

That’s where you and I see differently I’m not saying it’s apples to apples by any means, but say you have a person that’s doing all the right things in life but unfortunately drives drunk one night and hurts someone. Again, don’t take that as a direct comparison, as of course it’s different in many ways. But in no way am I saying those actions are justified, or excused, but it just becomes a tough situation in how it all goes down. What the punishment should be. In Wanders case I feel a couple years in jail, a permanent Scarlet letter, etc seem to be enough to fit the crime.

Nothing accidental about it at all. Your comparisons suck.
connorp Old-Timey Member Posted January 22, 2024 Posted January 22, 2024 Not for lack of trying I will be honest with some TMI and recall a night where I was going to go back to a friends house with her and her 17yo friend (which was legal in my state). Who knows how it would’ve all gone down but my car door lock froze and I couldn’t get in. After trying for like 20m, I gave up and we all went back in and that was that. Night ended up differently.
connorp Old-Timey Member Posted January 22, 2024 Posted January 22, 2024 What Wander did was apparently entirely planned / premeditated. Nothing accidental about it at all. Your comparisons suck. I knew someone weak minded like would come pull down the low hanging fruit like you’re f***ing Einstein lol. Thanks tips. Didn’t consider that It was in response to L54 saying I justify the actions. It would be weak sauce to try to justify drunk driving where someone gets hurt and say they didn’t mean to hurt anyone. It’s just about saying, especially when it’s a 21yo, is their life over? It’s rough to me.
connorp Old-Timey Member Posted January 22, 2024 Posted January 22, 2024 Using that same analogy, if he’s talented enough, there’s a possibility Henry Ruggs on the Raiders gets a shot at redemption. It’s entirely debatable which crime was worse in the end, between Wander and him, and I’ll go with Ruggs all day. That lady burned alive in a fire and isn’t ever seeing her family again. But I feel similar to Wander on it, just think Ruggs deserves more punishment.
Spanky__99 Old-Timey Member Posted January 22, 2024 Posted January 22, 2024 STFU connorp, dude's a groomer and will never play in the MLB again. You cretin.

Groomer is in same category as dog fighter for me. Don’t justify either, but don’t think either should end a caree. Pedo, sure, all day. Ok. Gfy now. I’ll bow out unless someone wants to goad me some more and have it carry on
