People need to realize nobody wanted Kirk for anything worth while... I hear this so much, why didn't we trade Kirk!!??... You can't trade something for something no one wants...

Yeah most people ignore the other team has to want a trade for specific pieces.

It would be nice to see some of the nut huggers verbally self-Seppuku for all their insufferable defending of this front office and team from the beginning of the season and pissing on people who rightfully criticized this team.

But that won't happen. Self-professed baseball savants, they'll probably just blame bad luck.

I think it is time to trade Vlad for the value we can get.. The value will be less as he gets closer to FA and fatter/starts developing knee and back issues etc..

It would also be a culture move. It is not working with Vlad as our "star".

Got to feel for Berrios. Good team mate.

Did his best holding it together but looked like he was holding back tears in post game interview.

Much respect to this guy . Fantastic team player.

You cannot blame hitting coaches for no talents like Varsho and Chapman falling off a cliff since May 1

What explains guys hitting previously and then come to the Jays and can't hit... There is a team approach and buy into a process that is team centric... Why have previously decent hitters gone to s*** this year...

You know I do want to shout this out. He was an incredible teammate who managed to put aside his bitter disappointment of being pulled, even as he was coming off the mound he was trying to be encouraging. That takes a lot, A LOT. Most pitchers would not be able to do it.

First take is: whoever reported someone for saying **** should leave this board right now. Jays fans deserve to be angry.

Secondly isn't going to be popular considering what my personal friends have said to me about it. The pitching gameplan worked. Baldelli responded with the exact moves the Jays wanted and Kikuchi got ground balls. If Berrios gives up one run, the Jays are down and the Twins have all the match-ups in their favour.

Third I don't know what the answer is moving forward. I don't know who you can trade and get value to change the offense of this team. As for the coaches and GM. If they get rid of them, the team will survive

It didnt work. Kikuchi came in and allowed Berrios' walk to score and allowed a run of his own. Those two runs were the difference in the game. It also completely changed the tone, feel and energy of the game. Berrios was bringing electricity. Everyone including the players I bet thought they had no chance to lose the way he was pitching. The way he got pulled so early was so deflating there is no way the players didn't feel it as well.

Berrios had three Ks in his last complete inning. You don't have worry about ground balls finding a hole when the batters can't hit the ball.

I'm not nearly as upset about the pitching decision. I know that will be the story in many ways, I don't like it, but at least I understand where it was coming from and Kikuchi really did not pitch poorly. The story of this game and their season is the offense. The front office sacrificed our offense for defense, they went too far and it f***ed us.

And really? You have cucks on here reporting people for saying "****"? Good God people are tissue soft these days. It's an everyday word in Australia.

The announcers were saying it was not

Schneider but the analytics team

It didn't work.

We're talking about a 0-0 game in the 4th inning, not a 0-0 game in the 7th.

My question is even if the Jays won this game or heck won in extra innings, which arms would be available tomorrow?

Thats pretty obvious but it doesnt change the fact that it was a brain dead move. I can see the logic, but IMO the plan needs to be scrapped when you see how Berrios is pitching.

Yeah I said a couple of weeks ago when criticizing Atkins and this FO that they could have done a better job at improving the defense without sacrificing that much offense. Yet I was attacked by even suggesting that.

Well pretty much everyone except maybe Garcia and I guess Kikuchi.

While I didn't like the decision, and don't like the overmanaging in general that has taken over the game in the postseason, it wasn't as bad as people want to think it was and it's not the defining feature of this game and this season.

Then you should hire a manager who watches the game and does not listen to charts

You don't have to tell me, people came for my head at the very beginning of the season when I suggested that the front office had killed our offense with their moves. People were threatening to block me and some probably did, even for me suggesting that this team was "maybe" a playoff team and would fight for a wildcard, many here were convinced this team would be just as good if not better offensively and was a legitimate division and world series contender. It's was quite extraordinary.

1) Players who choke in the final two months of the season and post-season (Chapman and Merrified), likely won't be coming back.

2) Varsho is not as bad as everyone thinks. He is gonna break out next year.

3) We need a coach who can stand up to the players. That means putting in a pinch runner for Vladdy sometimes and putting in pinch hitters for struggling regulars (Chapman).

4) Upper management needs to be hands off the managers. Let them do their job without interference. They are the ones taking the heat.

5) Baseball isn't a battle of spreadsheets. Emotion can't be measured. Pulling a starter who is on fire, after three innings makes it seem like ChatGPT is running the team.

6) No reason Biggio can't take 2B next year and Schneider can't take 3B.

7) Merrifield, Chapman, Belt and Ryu are gone next year. Frees up some decent cash for a big hitter.

And how many times has a pitcher been rolling, until they are not. It did work. The Jays got the players out they wanted out. They didn't give up another run. They put in a pitcher that got ground balls.

You want to talk about bad game plans. Bringing Griffin Jax to face the same guys he faced yesterday. I don't care about results. That is a terrible decision. Kikuchi doing his job but the balls getting hits...that is baseball
