Hi guys, I'm a Cuban and have been a Jays fan since 1998, it's been very hard for me to follow the games throughout the years due to it not being televised here and poor internet connection, all I have is Gameday and not even regularly. I rarely post here (although I'm very closely related to one of the active posters of this board). I know the playoffs have been hard for us so far, but please try to stay positive and believe our team can pull through. Every other year we would just be watching other teams battle in October while ours was left out of it. We still have at least one game left, which is far more than we could have dreamed of in March. If we win then onto the next game, if not lets just be happy that we actually made it to the playoffs at least and our team is loaded with amazing players so we have a chance next year. Go Jays!!! Trolls/pessimistic users go easy on me...

Although it's true that many Cubans want to leave the country for better opportunities (not unlike ever other 3rd world country), in the case of baseball players it's not only a government issue. Even if these players were allowed to play in the MLB by Cuban authorities, due to US laws (the embargo) they cannot play in the majors unless they have established residency in another country.
