John_Havok Old-Timey Member Posted October 3, 2023 Posted October 3, 2023 I'd probably leave Gausman in but it's somewhat understadable not to want him facing Lewis again
Jonn Old-Timey Member Posted October 3, 2023 Posted October 3, 2023 I’m hoping Gausman gets some redemption. Credit to Royce Lewis for not missing pitches.
Stangstag Old-Timey Member Posted October 3, 2023 Posted October 3, 2023 The Jays don't hit home runs. The hitters can't pull anything. They need to string together 3-4 hits to come back in this game and that's just not a realistic approach in the playoffs against good pitching. Yeah agreed. They scored a ton of runs the last few weeks because they were hitting more homers
jaysthebest Verified Member Posted October 3, 2023 Posted October 3, 2023 Gray is starting tomorrow.... Get ready for his shutout game. He's in the same tier as Cole.

It was pretty clear over much of the season that this offense would have some real problems in the playoffs should they make it, and now that's just playing itself out.
connorp Old-Timey Member Posted October 3, 2023 Posted October 3, 2023 Well Jays seemed to learn as a team not to throw him a FB down 3-0 3-1
Spanky99 Old-Timey Member Posted October 3, 2023 Author Posted October 3, 2023 Gausman is your stud workhorse, 73 pitches SMH Disappointing man. Dude was dealing at 82 pitches and was pulled last year.
Masterbather Verified Member Posted October 3, 2023 Posted October 3, 2023 They say defense wins championships, but it sure isn't playing out that way so far. That's because they are idiots
Grant77 Old-Timey Member Posted October 3, 2023 Posted October 3, 2023 A-Rod saying they've already swung and missed more on Swanson's split than Gausman's. I was just about to say that. This has nothing to do with split fingers fastballs and everything to do with Kevin Gausman. Paul Molitor was talking today about tips they had on guys in 93. I'm going to be so pissed when I hear what the tip was 30 years from now haha.
connorp Old-Timey Member Posted October 3, 2023 Posted October 3, 2023 I'd probably leave Gausman in but it's somewhat understadable not to want him facing Lewis again The AB went the same with Lewis laying off close splitters, closer than KG’s, it just ended different because they didn’t challenge him at the end
THANOS Old-Timey Member Posted October 3, 2023 Posted October 3, 2023 Mayza had a very lucky BABIP season, I still don't trust him.
PitaBaby Verified Member Posted October 3, 2023 Posted October 3, 2023 Time for the bats to wake up. Sounds like a broken record.
G-Snarls Community Moderator Posted October 3, 2023 Posted October 3, 2023 Ok boys Sdore some MF runs NOW
Jonn Old-Timey Member Posted October 3, 2023 Posted October 3, 2023 I mean Pitching and Defense does win championships but you still need to hit a little bit as well lol. It’s only 3-0 there’s zero reason the Jays shouldn’t be able to score multiple runs.
Jays24 Old-Timey Member Posted October 3, 2023 Posted October 3, 2023 3 runs should not seem insurmountable for a team with a 200M+ payroll. The f*** we spending that much money on lol

Say what you want about the 2015 Royals, they did not constantly make dumbass plays. When you suck offensively, you have 0 room for error.

Swanson is a different pitcher, they might have a different approach, and he threw better pitches early. Could be tipping, but I'm still not convinced.

Jays24 Old-Timey Member Posted October 3, 2023 Posted October 3, 2023 Pitching So do we have to spend 300M to get hitting too then?
el duque Verified Member Posted October 3, 2023 Posted October 3, 2023 Trading Teoscar for Varsho downgraded our lineup, Teoscar can hit HRs that we need badly
Spanky99 Old-Timey Member Posted October 3, 2023 Author Posted October 3, 2023 Only stat nerds who have never played a sport in their life would believe that lol. That makes zero sense, only ballplayers know that's a load of s***, you *Never Played* thinking like that.
Stangstag Old-Timey Member Posted October 3, 2023 Posted October 3, 2023 This ump is all over the place

Stangstag Old-Timey Member Posted October 3, 2023 Posted October 3, 2023 Schneider in full panic bullpen management mode We seem very desperate to win this game over saving bullets. Not sure if that strategy will payoff
