Jays24 Old-Timey Member Posted October 3, 2023 Posted October 3, 2023 Get Gausman the f*** outta here
Olerud363 Old-Timey Member Posted October 3, 2023 Posted October 3, 2023 Man, everything is hit hard FFS Guys are claiming that Gaussman needs to control the fastball, but he just did against Taylor. 2 fastballs low at the bottom of the zone. Taylow had great swings at both like he knew it was a fast ball not a splitter.
bones10 Old-Timey Member Posted October 3, 2023 Posted October 3, 2023 He isn’t tipping s***, he’s command is awful LOL
Grant77 Old-Timey Member Posted October 3, 2023 Posted October 3, 2023 Gausman is somehow telling them what is coming, they are it swinging at the splitter. This is not the first time we see this about Gausman, we need a camera on the catcher to see it. I criticize the Jays coaching staff, but we're not going to see it on TV if they don't.
gruber92 Old-Timey Member Posted October 3, 2023 Posted October 3, 2023 We got a massive break on that call.

Zacman Verified Member Posted October 3, 2023 Posted October 3, 2023 Someone with more knowledge, is it dangerous to throw the splitter for a strike?
glory Old-Timey Member Posted October 3, 2023 Posted October 3, 2023 Umpire trying to help Gausman out. I’ll allow it.

Stangstag Old-Timey Member Posted October 3, 2023 Posted October 3, 2023 He isn’t tipping s***, he’s command is awful LOL Its a bit of both
Omar Old-Timey Member Posted October 3, 2023 Posted October 3, 2023 Settle down lads. Let's Go JAYS!!!
Grant77 Old-Timey Member Posted October 3, 2023 Posted October 3, 2023 I want to see more sliders next inning. They are sitting fastball every time he throws it. It seems to me that they recognize splitter, but not the other pitches.
Spanky99 Old-Timey Member Posted October 3, 2023 Author Posted October 3, 2023 Well this is already looking like one for the toilet. Dude???
bones10 Old-Timey Member Posted October 3, 2023 Posted October 3, 2023 Try and get 5 out of him, would be plenty at this point
Stangstag Old-Timey Member Posted October 3, 2023 Posted October 3, 2023 I want to see more sliders next inning. They are sitting fastball every time he throws it. I kinda want to see some splitters in the zone. Worth a shot
Masterbather Verified Member Posted October 3, 2023 Posted October 3, 2023 In the first inning his splitter was mostly not competitive, but in this inning he threw a few that were and they weren't swinging. Maybe they have something, or they're just not swinging at anything that starts at the knees and hoping that will be the trick.
glory Old-Timey Member Posted October 3, 2023 Posted October 3, 2023 This is one of the few times I hope Schneider goes with a quicker hook. Whether it’s tipping, or command, or both, the Twins are getting great swings/contact on Gausman, and the umpire just saved what could have been a big inning for the Twins there.
Grant77 Old-Timey Member Posted October 3, 2023 Posted October 3, 2023 Someone with more knowledge, is it dangerous to throw the splitter for a strike? It usually is, but they aren't swinging at it, so perhaps not.

Zacman Verified Member Posted October 3, 2023 Posted October 3, 2023 It usually is, but they aren't swinging at it, so perhaps not. They have to try.
Delgalladay Verified Member Posted October 3, 2023 Posted October 3, 2023 Our hitters need to be more aggressive on the first pitch. Vlady, Bo, and Varsho all took 2 strikes before swinging.
Zacman Verified Member Posted October 3, 2023 Posted October 3, 2023 Two horrible at bat's, come on...

High let it fly. His command is off. Doesn’t help.

Schneider is quite bad about pulling the trusted guys early. They basically target 100 pitches every start regardless of results.
