This would never happen for a number of reasons but how would this look as a theoretical trade?

- Orioles get Tiedermann

- Blue Jays get Connor Norby (MLB ready 2B with pop) and Anthony Santander (final year of Arb - free agent after 2024)

Offense is helped a lot with the void at 2B being filled in. Santander brings pop that is sorely needed. Orioles get valuable lefty starter who benefits from the wall.

We would be getting HOSED in that deal.

Not sure why we would want Norby anyway. Schneider and Biggio could platoon and outperform him.

Santander is going to get paid over 10 million for his final arb year. He's not worth much either.

I really can't see those two teams connecting on a trade and potentially gifting the other in the AL East, but besides that, this is pretty one sided in favour of the O's.

Personally, I think the Jays badly need a controllable arm (lefty to boot) that can pencil into the rotation over the next year or two. Schneider should run with 2B along with Biggio and I think you can simply sign a bat that provides what Santander does - I don't think Teo is an unfair comparison.

Unfortunately, Biggio is the strong side of the platoon. So sub .700 OPS with meh defense for 400-500 of the ABs. Seems like most are ok with that platoon though

Biggio is such a little bitch ugh I can't wait until he is gone

just give me an Oakland style platoon lefty; some big dumb oaf who will hit 20 HR in 400 PA.

Knives are coming out before the game's even started.

Yeaaahhhh baby. Go home nerds

Team that led the league in 1985 Bill James nerd stats is winning. Not sure it is anything against Nerds.

It's like what they said in that movie "the money ball' or whatever. Get on base. Texas gets on base and hits the long ball. They spent for it I guess.

They absolutely bought it. Not even in a big market

Yeah. Not sure about that trade. Don't know enough about Norby.

The guy I'd really want from the Orioles is Samuel Basallo. If Tiedermann is healthy all year he is probably up with the Jays right now and never getting traded. However it would have been great if he established himself enough to get Basallo, which I don't think he has.

Note, Basallo isn't rising on the lists as much as an 18 year old hitting like he is should... I don't know if there is some red flag, or it is just the prospect ranking system has like a pecking order, and Basallo has to wait until more prospects graduate to get his turn. I think Vlad and Delgado were both top 10 at this stage, then went 1 or close the next year. (after which Delgado spent 2 years going back and forth to Syracuse instead of playing MLB ball, but that is another story).

Totally agree. Just saying they bought it Nerd style which teams have done since the mid 90s Yankees, the Boston Red Sox even tried to buy Billie Beane.

You can still hire Nerds and give them lots of money to play with. I think that is how Wall Street works.

But yeah. Not 'money ball' (like finding hidden stuff) but just plain nerd ball still.

the dbacks and their good pitching vs the dodgers and the great batting lineup, going to be a difficult match-up for the dbacks

D-Backs / Dodgers

Phillies / Braves

Rangers / Orioles

Twins / Astros

Phillies / Braves the marquee matchup, should be a good one

Got my NL predictions right. Had the Jays and Rays moving on in the AL in my bracket.

The joke Philly franchise that was a total fluke last season moves on without a sweat

Phillies actually aren't bad of a team this season. They could give the Braves some trouble.
