Majority of the fans don’t care about the antics. The evidence? All those jerseys with Guerrero Jr on the back you see everywhere.

Not saying it’s right, just saying. Casual fans love the guy.

Most of those jerseys were probably bought years ago before he became a total asshat.

Just watching some of the highlights.......Spencer Horwitz has a bat, what a swing. Why did the Jays not bring him up earlier? even last season? That's the kind of bat you to test out at the major league level and see if he can stick. Stupid to leave him down for this long - he's going to be 26 in Nov.

Did you expect them to bench Belt or Vlad for him?

Next year, they should use Schneider and Horwitz to replace Merrifield and Belt. They should also consider Clement as replacement for Chapman or at least Espinal/Biggio.

Aside from the fact that he was blocked by Vlad/Belt this season, Horowitz on July 1 was hitting .297/.419/.390 in AAA. For a 1B/DH, that wasn't good enough to call up on a team trying to contend. In July/Aug, he hit .394/.498/.644, so the power for whatever reason started to develop and he became a more interesting prospect. Now was probably the right time to call him up.

I could definitely see Schneider and Horowitz replacing Merrifield and Belt next season. Maybe Orelvis has a chance at 3B too, but that's a lot of rookies for a team that will likely be very desperate to make the playoffs, so they might prefer the stopgap route.

I want them to give Babe and Horowoitoz a chance but this front office is just as likely to trade one of them for a more established position player. I guess it might make sense if another team had a 3B or LF and valued one of those guys highly. It would be really nice to see them succeed as home-grown talent though.

Belt probably retires and Whit/Chap are looking for their paydays. How would Orelvis rank defensively as a prospect at 3rd. I know he has the arm strength for the left side… but reasonable defense at 3rd?

Nothing I've read indicates he can't be at least average defensively there. Arm is fine. And rated a 60. He was still even playing SS more than half the time when he was in the field and not DH at New Hampshire.

Interestingly at Buffalo they have him ating a mix of 2b, SS and 3b. At Buffalo he has the most innings at 2b. That's probably just to ensure he got in there every day when Clement, Barger and Schneider were all there at the same time.

The thing is, no matter who plays 3b next season...it will be a step down from what we've seen from Chappy over the past two seasons because Chappy is just that much better defensively than nearly everyone and to many whomever plays at 3b will be seen as bad, at least initially, as a result.

Horwitz plays LF doesn't he? and aside from that if a prospect is pushing for a promotion especially with a bat like that you find a spot to play him

If Horwitz plays Lf the Jays Of defense is in really trouble.

If he brings a big bat why not

Making rash lineup decisions based on 20 major league PAs and a sentence that starts with “if” seems inadvisable to me.

I've heard that his defense track pretty well even at SS.

Yeah, I think between Bo, Schneider, Barger, Clement and Orelvis, the IF has a chance to be pretty decent next season on the cheap.

I’d bet they’ll bring in a utility stopgap type player for 3b just to be safe, but 2b for sure seems like it’s covered nicely
