really, u think the batting coach is the source for this crap. I think Bassit, said after the Orioles game, that he really appreciated their approach, young, and listen to their batting coach, it seemed like a slight at the jays players but maybe not. in 2021 we had a monster offense with same batting coach.

Seems like they don't trust Schneider to play 3B? And they wanted to play Biggio because of the game winning homer the night before (partly as a reward and partly to see if he can do it again)? The reward part is kind of stupid but I have heard that it's one of those unwritten baseball rules where if you hit a home run you play the next day. Probably doubly true for a game winner.

 

But if Schneider can't play 3B and they felt they need to play Biggio then they should have played Chapman yesterday and sat him today. Sitting two bats when Bo and KK are already out with injury is stupid.

 

We dumbed down the lineup to Cleveland's level and gave away the advantage that we had. DUMN

Made no sense. Davis is having a historic start, why the hell would they bench him and Chapman at the same time when Bo and KK are already out? At least stagger the off days so that you're not losing too many bats at once. Unless there was an injury to DS, last night's lineup was ridiculous. Any time you look at the lineup card and all of DeJong, Espinal, and Biggio are in it, you might want to reevaluate.

 

If Bo had to get hurt, then I wish it happened a couple of days later (after the deadline). Probably wouldn't have made a difference as the team would have probably just started Espinal at SS instead of Barger, Clement, or someone in the minors, but having DeJong and Espinal on the roster at once is an eye sore.

I think the logic was that Cleveland is arguably the worst team in the league against LHP, so they were hoping to steal a "rest day" with Kikuchi on the mound. Cleveland ended up only getting 3 hits to our 9, so this actually would have worked - but of course two of their hits ended up producing a run whereas Springer took strike 3 with the bases loaded.

finally got to see a replay.... Jays pitching was outstanding. the offense still struggles with timely hits most games. hopefully they can get the bats going tonight
