A Bo injury for 2 months shouldn't sink the entire season. He would have provided ~2-3 WAR in those 2 months. Getting a mediocre replacement at short plus Vladdy and Springer getting it going more than covers that. The "big" bats have to get it going.

I don't watch any O's games besides when they play the Jays but their coaching seems quite good. Maybe that's the difference between them and Jays.

The Braves had so many contributors to the wild run. So many unsung hero's. They play that playoffs 99 more times the Braves team probably doesn't win the World Series again.

Atlanta has AA as GM. He pulled the strings to get the right replacements to win the WS. Atkins has less than 24 hours to fix the offense and also replace the league leader in hits all with a crappy farm system.

 

We do have solid pitching and pitching can keep you in games but losing Bichette for any length is crippling as he is the only good consistent hitter on this team. We are making bums look like Cy Young.

Is he a better option than Espy this year to fill in for Bo? Not sure. He sucks defensively and he has hit like s*** in '23 too. Splits are better against LHP.

I mean I am not the biggest Tim Anderson fan but I would love to see him over Espinal. But I don't think the Jays should give up a lot for him... He makes a s*** load of sense now though.
