Back when Ken Griffey Jr. played with Seattle and later with Cinci I made a point of trying to get out to games when he came to Toronto. Some players you just have to see. Ohtani is one of those.

I think Kirk's bat is for real minus the power add in his receiving skills, he just needs to get that body in shape because it's unacceptable - team has all the resources ffs

Jansen at 28 is in better shape than Kirk at 24. There is no guarantee Kirk will improve like you’re implying unless he gets his conditioning under control. Same with Vlad.

Of course, I've mentioned his conditioning in my posts, Jays have all the resources in the world - they probably left well enough alone thinking he would continue where he left off last season - clearly not the case. If he comes into camp next season looking like he does now and underperforms again then we have a problem.

 

Also, no guarantees we sign Jansen in 2025 - he's going to the highest bidder -as he should.

I'm now skeptical if that will be a thing, lots of mixed reviews and controversy still. We can live with Kirk and his minimal hit on payroll for the control of his contract, it'd be stupid to move him. I'm sure the fatties have been noted.
