93 Jays Verified Member Posted June 15, 2023 Posted June 15, 2023 Does Vlad have any options remaining? Send him to the complex league to go on a crash diet with Manoah KING of sarcasm, but the zombies probably don't get it
93 Jays Verified Member Posted June 15, 2023 Posted June 15, 2023 I will die on this hill. I would rather Berrios get the chance to finish this and lose than have the bullpen finish it. I am tired of this s***. Let him finish the f***ing game. Why let Berios face him for a third time? He was due. Especially when you have a lefty and Gunnar just happens to be htting below the mendoza line against lefties. Never mind one with a good sinker. Wait? Didn't Gunnar hit a ground ball? It was exactly the right call for once
Orgfiller Old-Timey Member Posted June 15, 2023 Posted June 15, 2023 Merrifield? Springer? Who else is Whit to you?

Pulled Berrios at exactly the right time which put us in a great spot to get the W while also saving a bunch of our arms for tomorrow. With Kikuchi and the bullpen game coming up we will need them.

How does pulling him at that time come across as Schneider being savvy in saving the pen? Should Schneider get props for not pulling him earlier while he was cruising on a low pitch count? It was obviously the right time with Gunner up for the fourth time against Berrios at 90+ pitches representing the tying run. Going to Mayza at that point wasn't rocket science.

jaysblue Old-Timey Member Posted June 15, 2023 Posted June 15, 2023 Berrios looking really solid. He's been the key piece to this rotation as good as Gausman and Bassitt have been. Without Berrios pitching like a No. 2/3, Jays would be in trouble. Glad he's having a bounce back season!
Eat My Shatkins Verified Member Posted June 15, 2023 Posted June 15, 2023 Yeah man, Berrios rebounding has allowed the Jays to stay in the hunt despite Manoah falling apart. Maybe one of these seasons all the starters could be good at the same time though? That'd be nice for a change lol I mean, they don't have to all be world beaters, just maybe not have any of them suck so bad you can basically put all their starts in the loss column pre-emptively.

Yeah when Gausman or Bassitt or Berrios are bad, they're bad. But that's once in a blue moon which is a good thing. Kikuchi has done a formidable job as a No. 5 starter. Not complaining at all with his performance. Sucks Manoah really s*** the bed this season. If he was a somewhat decent No. 3 starter, Jays definitely have a couple of more wins.

I just hope Manoah and the organization can get his mechanics and slider sorted out so he can return this season and at least provide some innings.

I really like that there's been absolutely 0 mention of Manoah and what hes working on by the media since he went down. Just leave him the f*** alone for a while until he's sorted.

connorp Old-Timey Member Posted June 16, 2023 Posted June 16, 2023 I don’t even have baseball or the Jays overly prominent on my news feed and I saw Manoah updates. Not sure if you guys live in the igloo section of Canada? Idk

They should figure it out, eventually.
