Ty France has a 142 wRC+ in 450 PA somehow

He just needed to get away from Popkins to unlock his full potential :)

Bo's been really good since Mid May, I'm glad he's turned it around.

Good hitters don’t typically stop being good hitters overnight. Now he just needs to be rescued from New York

I just watched a podcast done on him, there's talk he'll just take the 5M buyout and 47M and jump back in the market, I would if I were him. He's been running a 128 wRC+ in the 2nd half. The market is bare, he'll get paid.

I hope it's us at a reasonable amount for a 2nd baseman.

Nimmala has been great for the Angel's AA team so far.

7 HRs in 121 PA's

17% BB, 23% K, .290 ISO, 143 wRC+

Maybe I am coping but still .239 career minor league hitter.    Had to look at Anthony Volpe stats to make myself feel better .262 .372 .502 minors .225 .287 .383 majors.

That's a big drop-off and not typical.  But almost everyone drops off a bit from minors triple slash to majors.  Nimalla is I think .239 .339 .460 minors which probably projects to a good but not elite player in the majors.

Maybe they'll get burnt by this, but the machine probably says he is good not great.   Really needed a 2-starter for next two years.

he's hitting .270 in AA - no reason to look at anything else

Jesus Sanchez was claimed by the D-Backs

D'Backs have a thing for poor defensive outfielders who have some pop but can't get on-base lol.

I think they need to bring Bo back to play second base. His bat would be such a huge addition to this lineup, and maybe Bo in the lineup takes some pressure off Vladdy.

How long and what AAV would you pay to add Bo?

I understood the logic behind the trade, and Nimmala may or may not pan out, but wish the Jays were able to get Soriano without giving him up. 20 year old with power who can stick at SS and who is above average offensively in AA already. The Jays need some young high upside position players to start filtering up rather than being used as trade chips.

I think everyone wants to add a big time arm like Soriano, while not giving up your top prospects - yes.

Or you can develop them yourself, but that doesn't happen here.

We know - you hate the f*cking team.  At least you're consistent and miserable.

Lol, based on what. exactly? Because I mentioned a lack of player development while otherwise cheering for the team during every other thread?

I mean this sincerely as someone who, unfortunately, has read a lot of your posts. You need help, brother. Lots of it. Bipolar posting style (on a consistent basis) and taking a message board this seriously is not good, and the fact that Spanky is the only one cheerleading you is probably something you need to consider as a sign for help.

In between telling us how much the team sucks and how much hitting coaches don't matter, please seek therapy.

Good question.

Looking at some comparable's. Bo will be 29 next season Opening Day.

Maybe 6 years/$140M - similar to what Trevor Story signed with the Red Sox at the same age. Or maybe something similar to Cody Bellinger (5 year, $162M).

Or max I would go would be Willy Adames like Spanky said (7 years/$182M).

Not against the Soriano deal, but I do understand where Glory is coming from.

Pretty much every rotation arm for the Jays the last 4-5 years was either a big FA signing (Cease/Gausman/Bassitt/Ponce/Scherzer), or trading prospect capital for an arm in their late 20's (Berrios/Bieber/Soriano). The only arms the Blue Jays have really developed were Manoah and Yesavage. Could add Miles in there as well if you want.

Will give Atkins credit however - he's nailed his FA signings when it comes to big arms. Gausman and now Cease.

Would be nice if this organization can churn out more arms (even just mid-rotation guys) rather than always having to spend either $200M on a top arm or trading prospect capital for an arm.

Yeah, Atkins is usually very good to great with MLB transactions (trade/signings). He has some stinkers in there like everyone else, but that's clearly his strength. I just don't know how sustainable it is to have everything have to be a trade or FA signing when a need arises. My point, before Brownie lost his mind, was that I actually think the Soriano trade was good, I just wish the Jays didn't have to keep making those types of trades. More Yesavage's (and Miles') would be great
