I chatted with my buddy today. He has no news on Ohtani but thinks the Jays are a likely landing spot but he hasn’t heard anything this week.

He was saying that the Yamamoto camp has requested a meeting with the Jays. Jays likely have 40m to work with even if they sign Ohtani.

Jays had interest in Soto but his understanding was the ask was Manoah, Vlad and Tiedeman for Soto + and when the Jays hard noed on Tiedeman and Vlad the talks basically ended. They did put on offer across before the Yankees finalized that did include Tiedeman.

Interest in Lee for LF is legit. May end up spending on a SP and him and go cheap or trade for 3B.

Team is impressed with the work Vlad is doing in Florida.

Manoah Vlad and Tiedeman for 1 year of Soto is laughable. even if the plus coming back was the same guy the Yankees got, they'd be morons to do that deal.

If they sign Ohtani, Yamamoto and Lee I'll be pitching a f***ing tent in my pants all winter.

Only way that's happening is if they come with a buy 2 and get 1 free coupon lol.

Yeah it's hard to envision any scenario where the team can sign all 3 guys unless they are willing to hit Cohen tax territory.

I seriously think both Vlad and Manoah are really strong bets to have huge bounceback seasons so trading them for a rental could have ruinous effects for the franchise's long term health.

Agreed

I wouldn't trade either right now for what you'd probably get

On the eve of getting Ohtani this board has a revolution brewing lmao

You just wait until the Japanese invade this board lol.

I wouldn't trade Vlad unless blown away but I could see trading Manoah for a 2 WAR position player with some control. Pitchers are very fragile and if he's got something going on with his arm or if he got fat and lost his mechanics he could be washed already.

Not to mention that it might be awkward for Manoah coming back into the clubhouse considering he basically quit on the team last year. Who knows how fractured the relationship with the FO is too.

I think this is most likely being overblown and isn't as big a deal as it's being made about to be. Aside from catastrophic injury to one of the team's starters Manoah wasn't really going to be required anyway. It sounds like the guy and his camp might have actually thought he was legitimately injured.

That said, winning cures everything. If he does come back and this team dominates at the clip we've all been hoping for, all will be forgiven

Manoah just didn’t want to admit he blew. His mind convinced him it was an injury. You can see that this is the type of athlete Manoah is. He never seemed to admit or come to terms with the fact he sucked balls this year from the start to end.

That's certainly possible but only Alek would know what he feels happening with his body. His stuff and command both cratered so dramatically that I would not be surprised in the slightest if he was negatively affected by injury. Who knows whether this was a since resolved shoulder injury he showed up with in spring training that altered his mechanics, or an ongoing injury that was having this effect. It seems everyone wants to just assume the worst with the guy but we haven't had a chance to hear his side of the story as Alek and his team have gone full radio silence on the matter.

LOL it's not like extra fat stops your body from feeling pain in your joints.

Still am, but at my worst i was 6'6" 473 that I am aware of. Could have been heavier but that was the heaviest I ever saw on a scale.

was down to 360 a few months ago, next doctor visit they'll get the crane working again and see where I'm at but i find theat every belt loop I go down it's about 20 pounds. Im guessing im around 345-ish. Goal is 250 then we'll see how it looks from there. I've got a lot of muscle mass under there somewhere according to all the tests i've had done so the estimate is 250 is where I would probably be "normal" for my size and muscle mass.

Hard to say for sure as I've never had the full like MRI-based body scan to determine fat, bone and muscle mass. They have one here at USask so I might wander over there one day

Great work, man. I know how hard it is to lose weight. I lost over 100 pounds myself and it was quite a journey. Keep at it...and don't rush the process.

Holy s*** you sound like you could have taken up a career as a pro wrestler or something. Congrats on the weight loss so far. I was never super heavy but still managed to drop about 50 pounds of fat back when I was in my 20's which made a dramatic difference to my smaller frame. I've never really managed to add as much muscle as I was hoping for but felt so much better about myself at the lower weight.

good for you man

keep going. i know from what you are doing in school that it's a whole lifestyle change for you, which is perfect.

I imagine that once you get under like, 300 lbs it will feel completely different. Like, whole new movements will be accessible to you and s***.
