Great point gruber. As of August 1st, before Davis Schneider and all the other reinforcements came, the Jays were WAYYYYY down at 7th in MLB with a 107 wRC+.

I don't get it... We haven't pounded one of their mediocre starters all year expect maybe once? And that bullpen is (or at least was) too good to NOT get to the starters

The thing I'd be worried about in Camden is that Jays right handed power has a good game and hit's 410 foot bombs caught at the freak wall, and Adam Frazier wins the game with a 341 foot, 91 mph exit V homerun down the line in right.

Less of a worry than last year. Maybe Biggio or Varsho wins the game with the 340 foot pop up and Ryan Mountcastle hits the 410 foot out.

 

What a weird park, 2/3 of it are still normal so like it's almost easier to hit a homerun to center than parts of left.

Alek must be super stupid or something. He has performed before so should be possible to get himself straightened out and back on track for a big payday. Instead he is potentially torpedoing his career over 6 weeks service time or something (if that is indeed what is happening, certainly sounds like he is filing a grievance or something thinking he is injured not sucky).

Shows up to Spring Training and he's over 320 lbs., predictably sucks and then when demoted he just whimpers off into the offseason while the team is in the middle of a rock fight for the final wild card spot.

 

Any normal athlete would be working hard to try and contribute to the postseason.

Longer, their depth is shot. Jays certainly benefit in a longer series, imo.

I hope no one compares him to Stroman because Stro was a machine who worked hard and did everything he could to contribute. Manoah is the opposite of that.

 

Tough spot for the Jays because they have trouble developing starters and Manoah is their only success story in 8 years. They’d either have to sell low or hope he gets in shape during the winter, and the latter seems like wishful thinking. Maybe there’s a team desperate for pitching (Cardinals, Padres?) that might give some value rather than low ball.

Stroman was a big game pitcher for the Jays. I'm not a fan of his antics sometimes, but he pitched in some big games in 2015 and worked his way back to make 4 important September starts that season. Talk about motivation and urgency. Have all the respect for Stroman. Would be nice to see him retire as a Jay down the road.
