Just gotta stay up the middle.

Why pull the ball? Those 400ft CF flies turning into long outs are the best evidence we can see of a solid plate approach. What’s the upside of hitting 400 foot flies towards LF anyways…

Isn't this just good evidence supporting the idea that they should go on a run?

RISP splits are probably noise

The bases empty number would be much closer to true talent

Yes.

You would think, but at 100+ games, can they break the pattern or is it the norm for the season

lol. Continues tonight. 1/4 but no hard contact or runners cashed in. Can you bet on every at bat?

Someone should just start betting against Jays when runners are in scoring position and start making a lot of money then seeing what Vegas would do?

Would Vegas say .... this is a random fluke we are not changing the odds/

Or ... we are not letting people make millions betting against the Jays when runners are in scoring position.

Schneider should not use this garbage lineup ever again. 7-9 batting holes were terrible as expected.

You typically don't expect anything from Espinal, Biggio and Dejong in hitting.

It has to start evening out, but not tonight...

Though come to think of it they did get 2 ground ball choppers for infield singles with RISP but no runs none the less.

Jays pitchers with baseball magnets on them this year. It's been an insane year for them getting hit. Just can't make this s*** up.

I know for some of the Jays the same sizes are pretty small and I'm not including guys who have like 50 PA but the Jays wRC+ since May 1st

Biggio 113 wRC+

Espinal 79 wRC+

Chapman 95 wRC+

Bichette 133 wRC+

Merrifield 112 wRC+

Kiermaier 111 wRC+

Kirk 87 wRC+

Belt 150 wRC+

Jansen 118 wRC+

Springer 109 wRC+

Varsho 81 wRC+

Guerrero 105 wRC+ - sine the wrist injury on May 6 he's 99 wRC+

Needed a bat at the deadline. Team will go as far as Chappy, Springer and Vlad take them. I trust Bo, Belt, Jano, Merrifield to continue what they’ve done, I think Varsho is a lost cause this year, Kirk might be okay. Need those first three to be better. The pitching is good enough

Cody Bellinger would have this team challenging for the division right now

They did add a bat at the deadline. His name is Davis Schneider.

They benched him yesterday in favour of Santiago Espinal and lost 1-0.

What bat would have made an actual difference that someone like Schneider can't replicate? Tommy Pham is sporting a 13 wRC+ since being traded. Teoscar Hernandez has a 48 wRC+ in the second half of this season - he's not an upgrade at all.

The Cubs didn't sell and are in playoff contention so talking about Bellinger is pointless.

Why is Varsho a lost cause? He is hitting .316 over his past 7 games with only 3 strikeouts. His plate appearances are considerably improved.

The performance management department must have deemed Schneider exhausted, thus the rest day. :P

Thanks for nothing Heineman!!

I blame the front office for keeping Green in AAA for so long. Did he really need that many outings when he was dominating??

f***in rough way to get re-injured

Yeah maybe. We’re they stretching him out so he could go multi innings or did they see something and thought he wasn’t there yet for the call up? Now he will have seven days under the concussion protocol and then probably another week. He won’t be ready for the Orioles series. Bad luck I guess.

He's referring to getting Bellinger in the off season, as many here myself included were advocating.

Thats what I thought he meant.

Regarding Pham or anyone...a sample size of since the trade deadline a week ago doesn't determine if an add is an upgrade or not LMAO.

Hey, but Varsho over the last 7 games is hitting .316 so all is now forgiven and we could forget his brutal season to date!

On the one hand Pham sucks...cause a week proves it....but Varsho rakes now....cause a week proves it. LMAO.

By that "logic" when AA added Joc Pederson, Soler and Rosario to ATL, Jorge Soler wasn't an upgrade because he only really destroyed the ball in the World Series winning MVP.

The most recent argument of the Belly haters is Kevin Kiermaier has a higher WAR/game.

Not anymore.

KK - 1.8 WAR, 95 games

Belly - 3.8 WAR, 83 games

The so called Sheriff of BJMB should hand in his imaginary badge.

Could’ve signed Belly in the offseason

A 7 game stretch is insignificant. There are like 20 other weeks where he’s been terrible

We absolutely did need a bat at the deadline. We have to hope now that one of our farm guys steps up and stays consistent to add some offensive value. We also have to hope that Vlad and Springer etc suddenly become their projections. Thats not impossible. Stranger things have happened in baseball. Maybe Davis can stick. etc.

Nope not impossible. Most important part for a baseball team is peaking at the right time like how the 2021 Jays did. Even though they missed the playoffs it’s safe to say nobody wanted to face them. Same could still happen

LOL. Be nice to the Term now...he went all in and is still living that down, and his undying support of Biggio. Always a strong backer of that kid.
