Spanky99 Old-Timey Member Posted August 4, 2023 Posted August 4, 2023 The way the roster is currently constructed Ernie should get sent back to AAA. Not sure who loses their 40 man spot. We only have 4 "OFs" on the 40 man. Funny that Schneider was not protected in the latest rule 5. This group is luckier than good at talent evaluation. I had a buddy share Joel Payamps number with me this season. i always wondered WHY he was released when we need a BP arms in 2021 and he had a 2.70 ERA over 30 IP. This year he is 51.1 IP 1.93 ERA .857 WHIP 59 Ks I will file this beside Jason Adams who had a 2.91 ERA for Jays in 2019 who was also deemed not good enough and let go for nothing. He has given up 58 hits over the last two years in 106 IP...not bad I will save Bryan Baker and others for another day You can do this with 29 other baseball teams in baseball, sir.
G-Snarls Community Moderator Posted August 4, 2023 Posted August 4, 2023 This was an incredibly risky signing by the Red Sox. He'd thrown 21 2/3 innings since 2019 and was coming off TJ surgery, following years of back injuries. This was 100% a lottery ticket that 'hit'. Certainly a risk that teams with deep pockets can take. If they weren't in contention, he would have also been a great trade chip at the deadline too. Would he ever have been Still surprised they actually ARE in contention, although we've certainly helped with that...

gruber92 Old-Timey Member Posted August 4, 2023 Posted August 4, 2023 Schneider better be starting the whole series batting no worse than seventh.
L54 Old-Timey Member Posted August 4, 2023 Posted August 4, 2023 Schneider better be starting the whole series batting no worse than seventh. He’ll hit 8th tomorrow and have a pinch hit appearance on Sunday. Gotta earn your spot rookie
glory Old-Timey Member Posted August 4, 2023 Posted August 4, 2023 Schneider better be starting the whole series batting no worse than seventh. If he starts in more than one of the three games, I’d be pleasantly surprised.

Spanky99 Old-Timey Member Posted August 4, 2023 Posted August 4, 2023 How’s his Defense ? Average... 15. Davis Schneider 2B Ht: 5'9" | Wt: 190 | B-T: R-R Age: 24 BA Grade/Risk: 45/High June Update: It’s been a slow burn for Schneider, who was a 2017 28th-round pick out of Eastern High in Voorhees, N.J. He broke out in 2022, climbing three levels and hitting .253/.366/.457 across 113 games. He returned to Triple-A to begin 2023 and has shown improved power both in his home run total and his exit velocity data. In 2022 Scheider showed a strong combination of approach, contact and average power. He’s now showing above-average impact in games as his average exit velocity jumped from 88 mph in 2022 to 91 mph so far in 2023. This added impact makes Schneider an interesting hitter with above-average impact and plate skills. He’s a versatile defender who’s seen time at second, in the outfield corners and his natural position of third base. Scouting Grades: Hitting: 55. Power: 55. Running: 50. Fielding: 45. Arm: 45

Krylian Old-Timey Member Posted August 4, 2023 Author Posted August 4, 2023 Check out that stache Noice BTW why is Twitter now called X. Complete rebranding has always been Musk's plan. He formed a new company, X Corp, at the time of the purchase. Twitter will eventually be no more. But I'm sure there's will always be those who call is SkyDome out of spite
Omar Old-Timey Member Posted August 4, 2023 Posted August 4, 2023 Schneider better be starting the whole series batting no worse than seventh. Right behind your buddy Varsho:p
tossingthiscoin Verified Member Posted August 4, 2023 Posted August 4, 2023 If I see Springer batting the clean-up spot again, I would be irritated.
glory Old-Timey Member Posted August 4, 2023 Posted August 4, 2023 Schneider starting at 2B and batting 7th tonight. Hopefully he can add a little pop to the lineup.
Omar Old-Timey Member Posted August 4, 2023 Posted August 4, 2023 Somebody in the org is learning. First Merrifield to leadoff and now Jano to cleanup. Springer at no.2 but....
Jonn Old-Timey Member Posted August 4, 2023 Posted August 4, 2023 He should have been here over a month ago. But happy it finally happened. Also Mitch White didn't even get claimed on waivers lol. So he's still in the organization.
gruber92 Old-Timey Member Posted August 4, 2023 Posted August 4, 2023 Right behind your buddy Varsho:p Varsho is nearing Bradley Zimmer country, so his ass will/should be coming off the bench. If Varsho starts one game this series, it'll continue to show and prove the incompetence of management.
Stangstag Old-Timey Member Posted August 4, 2023 Posted August 4, 2023 Hah... yeah lets drop Chappy in the order. Jays saw the tweet

Omar Old-Timey Member Posted August 4, 2023 Posted August 4, 2023 Luplow....just when we were saying hello, we're saying goodbye.
BigCecil Old-Timey Member Posted August 4, 2023 Posted August 4, 2023 Yep - reminds me a lot of Scott Rolen. I never viewed Rolen as this offensive powerhouse, but that combination of offensive production, solid base running and elite defense was pretty special at 3rd base. I undervalued Rolen when he was here because his bat wasn't much above league avg and didn't really appreciate his D as much as I do now. I used to think Ricciardi got robbed and that he was shot when we got him. We live we learn...hopefully.

Eat My Shatkins Verified Member Posted August 4, 2023 Posted August 4, 2023 Pop has been pitching in AAA and getting his clock cleaned mostly. Relievers are so f***ed. I thought both he and Bass would play big parts in the Jays BP this year and neither have, yet the Jays BP is actually pretty good lol

Stangstag Old-Timey Member Posted August 4, 2023 Posted August 4, 2023 Good riddance. Nice to know we’ve got him in AAA now though. I firmly believe he can be a contributor next year. Just needs a reset.

Or it's really telling what the rest of the League thinks of him. Jays were terrified to even use him.
