Not only does he need to bring home the bacon and cook it, he needs to make sure it's vegan bacon, sourced in a sustainable fashion, and the proceeds from buying said bacon needs to cover all of the POC, LGBQ+++, and gender equality charities around the globe.
L54 Old-Timey Member Posted April 17, 2023 Posted April 17, 2023 Bass is getting absolutely ratio’d on Twitter lol
Jonn Old-Timey Member Posted April 17, 2023 Posted April 17, 2023 I always get a laugh when people try to use social media to rag on another person or business but it just exposes how entitled/wrong the person complaining is. With that said, if Anthony Bass getting cancelled leads to Pearson finally being on the big league roster, then I'll take it. I want him gone so bad. Maybe he will just retire and hide

Stangstag Old-Timey Member Posted April 17, 2023 Posted April 17, 2023 So are we getting a cool city connect jersey or is ours that hideous Canadian red jersey. I don’t think we get one this year, maybe next
Solaxys Old-Timey Member Posted April 17, 2023 Posted April 17, 2023 In what universe would Bass be “cancelled” for this Apparently, he's a trumpet? People are digging into his twitter now, those not associated with baseball, and unearthing a lot of 'dirt'. He's trending on Reddit on non-baseball channels. Bad press might rack up.
max silver Old-Timey Member Posted April 17, 2023 Posted April 17, 2023 I want him gone so bad. Maybe he will just retire and hide Holy overreaction man. Bass has struggled to start the season but this looks to largely be the result of poor fastball location. If he irons out his command he should return to being an effective reliever.
JaysAllMighty Old-Timey Member Posted April 17, 2023 Posted April 17, 2023 Merrifield the only jays that hit a home run against Javier (actually hit 2) and he's not in the lineup. Montoyo days again.
Jonn Old-Timey Member Posted April 17, 2023 Posted April 17, 2023 OF5 rollercoaster So one’s going to go down and play everyday. The others going to play once or twice the next 2 weeks. And then they rotate again. Nathan Lukes did swing the bat well in AAA though.
max silver Old-Timey Member Posted April 17, 2023 Posted April 17, 2023 Merrifield the only jays that hit a home run against Javier (actually hit 2) and he's not in the lineup. Montoyo days again. None of the Jays second basemen have done much of anything with the bat yet so it's perfectly defensible to rotate them through the lineup until one of them seizes the job.

max silver Old-Timey Member Posted April 17, 2023 Posted April 17, 2023 LOL, that's your take on this? Exactly as I just stated. If the club is going to continue to roster all three of Espinal, Merrifield and Biggio they may as well keep cycling each of them through the lineup until one of them gets hot and earns the position. Last season Espinal was key contributor early on and subsequently received the most playing time at second base. After he started to struggle later in the season his playing time was cut accordingly. Hopefully one of the three eventually starts contributing more with the bat and makes the primary starter an easy decision. Further to that Javier's splits are far worse vs lefties compared to righties for his career so opting to play the left handed bat isn't a terrible decision by any means. And it's not like Merrifield is the type of hitter at this stage of his career as he was earlier on so treating him as the part time player he performs like is not some sort of great offence.
Carlos Danger Old-Timey Member Posted April 17, 2023 Posted April 17, 2023 (edited) I’m not sure a flight attendant said: you need to clean that up. What exact danger was the popcorn causing? It’s more likely the wife asked and the flight attendant was dismissive bc that’s what the cleansing people do after…and the wife said she’d just do it There are crews to clean up on most airlines. Some airlines for cost saving or turn around time have asked the flight attendants to clean up between turns. The FAs don't like this and possibly was trying to get out of doing the cleanup. One: The wife was pregnant, that is the key point. A pregnant women should not be, nor asked to get in a position you would need to to clean up the floor in the economy row of an airline. Two: A flight attendant should not be asking anyone to leave their seat to do something like that in-flight. If there was turbulence etc and they person asked to do this got hurt, the FA and airline would def be liable. Not the same as going to the bathroom. Three: If you go to a movie theatre and spill popcorn do the ushers come tell you to clean it up? No, I know because when I was 15 that was my job to go clean it all up between showings. Didn't matter how it got on the floor/seats, that was my responsibility. Why would you be responsible for cleaning on an airline.. Now, the caveat to this type of situation is diapers. No one should be changing diapers in a seat or on a tray table (YES it happens a lot). The diaper should not be left in the seat area or thrown on the ground etc.. Other than that type of situation and when you look at the situation in totality, young kids, prego mom, it was out of line to ask Bass's wife to clean up. Case closed!! This isn’t even the first time he has said said stupid s*** on Twitter.

Always best to keep political opinions off the internet if your real name is attached. That’s dumb on his part. Either way I still don’t see why any of this would matter

Ah so you want the team to jettison Bass from the roster because of his facial expression and because he said something on Twitter you didn't like. That completely checks out based on past posts.

He definitely deserves to be up on the big league squad sooner. rather than later. Unfortunately it's likely going to take an injury to one of the relievers due to the lack of remaining options for most of the relief core.

Not sure what it is about the movie-going experience that makes people behave like complete savages, but no reason not to pick up your garbage and s*** and tidy up before leaving your seats. Ushers should be standing at people seats with cattle prods when the movie is finished to make sure they all pick up their s***! Have no issue with UA flight attendants holding Bass's two little shits accountable! Only issue is they should have made the kids pickup the mess instead of the wife!

Jays333 Verified Member Posted April 18, 2023 Posted April 18, 2023 Bass is definitely pissed Cimber wasn't sent in sooner to help him clean up the inning. I like him as a pitcher but what a s*** head. Clean up your own kids garbage you dick face
Brownie19 Old-Timey Member Posted April 18, 2023 Posted April 18, 2023 They probably brought their own. They didn't. The airline gave their kids complimentary popcorn and then came back with a garbage bag and told the mom to pick up every last piece as soon as they reached cruising altitude and the seatbelt sign came off. I've never heard of an airplane having popcorn available on it either. I saw pictures and it didn't look at that bad. I don't purposely spill popcorn at the movie theatre, but if I do spill some by accident, I don't pick it up - nor would I at the Jays game. I also crack peanut shells and throw them on the ground at the Jays game. My ticket price for a plane ticket, a movie ticket and a Jays ticket includes effort to clean the place up once the event is over. That doesn't mean I fully support people being *******s and making bigger messes on purpose, but that doesn't appear to be what happened here. And those suggesting a 2 year old should pick up after themselves must not have kids. That's really stupid.
Stangstag Old-Timey Member Posted April 18, 2023 Posted April 18, 2023 Am I the only one who think Pop f***ing blows? He’s literally nothing. As long as Thornton doesn’t make the team. I actually feel Richards could bounce back and be effective because he actually misses bats. Problem is when he doesn’t. Lolll
