Why wait till the off-season, hire his ass as a roving pitching coach or special assistant to Pete Walker or whatever title they want to give him and get him in there now.

Get Vladdy Sr. to talk him into it

The Rays have to lose at some point, so I'm confident the Jays win at least 1 game this weekend. Gonna be hard to predict with Berrios and Kikuchi pitching two of the games. Hell, even Manoah deserves some of that skepticism with the way he's started this season as well. Berrios did a lot better at home last season so if that trend continues then maybe he surprises us tonight.

Would anyone be truly shocked if Berrios actually shoved tonight? Not saying to expect it, as I certainly don't, but would it be shocking?

That's just it, this is the biggest test of the season so far and we're going into it with 3 big question marks for starters, vs the Rays, who never has question marks for starters. Can't wait to see what Cy Young candidate they bring up to replace Springs. Taj Bradley was ready to go for Eflin, so I wonder who's next?

When is Glasnow expected back?

Not for a little bit yet

April 11, 2023

Glasnow (oblique) threw a 15-pitch bullpen session Tuesday, Tricia Whitaker of Bally Sports Sun reports.

ANALYSIS

It's the first time he's thrown off a mound since he suffered a Grade 2 strain of his left oblique back in late February. That was six weeks ago, so it doesn't seem like Glasnow is going to make it back within the initially projected 6-to-8 week timetable. The talented right-hander is seemingly doing well in his recovery, though, and just needs to rebuild stamina.

Berrios will get crushed tonight vs the rays

Maybe but in 5 years the Jays will be a good team in Toronto while the Rays will be going to Portland Or Montreal

At this point, yes, I think it would be surprising if he went bonkers tonight and shut them down. It's no secret his has some filthy pitches, but there's also very clearly something missing from putting it all together that nobody seems to be able to poinpoint.

When you realize you have to make the game day thread for Berrios' start against the Rays:

Rays

Astros

Yankees

Wow. This week will be a workout!

and the Rays next run?

Jays, Reds, White Sox, then Houston, then the White Sox again.

It's like they decided Tampa gets easy street for the first entire month with a tiny bit of effort sprinkled in.

Well… at least we’re fully healthy facing these teams. I guess the timing is ok, just need Manoah and Berrios to figure out what the f*** is wrong

Looks like the Rays are using a righty as an opener today for 1 or 2 innings and then probably using lefty Josh Fleming (4 innings or more).

What will be the best lineup for the Jays?

IMO stop this merry go round at 2b. Merrifield should be our starting 2b and only sub when injured or he needs a day off. Our best team is with Merrifield and KK in the lineup.

None of the three have been hitting well this year, so anointing any of them is premature.
