L54 Old-Timey Member Posted March 18, 2023 Posted March 18, 2023 The thing is this team could flame out this year and no one going to be like ‘too many stone faced white dudes on this team’ Or our (mostly white) bullpen could have not self combusted against Seattle or white Springer or white Bichette could have not messed up the key play (harsh but true) and we went on to win a world series (cos the playoffs are pretty random). This all seems like nonsense to me. But now there are way more white people around, I expect Bo to f*** up a lot less at SS. George Springer is not white
Deadpool Old-Timey Member Posted March 18, 2023 Posted March 18, 2023 George Springer is not white Neither is Bo Bichette, that was the joke (I believe, it almost caught me too...)
Spanky99 Old-Timey Member Posted March 18, 2023 Posted March 18, 2023 Not acceptable in the derogatory context it is used on BJMB ie. someone is mentally deficient Don't be a tard, Jimmyc.
Spanky99 Old-Timey Member Posted March 18, 2023 Posted March 18, 2023 Neither is Bo Bichette, that was the joke (I believe, it almost caught me too...) Is it though?
connorp Old-Timey Member Posted March 18, 2023 Posted March 18, 2023 Sometimes I feel bad if I’m part of a thread going on for pages of nonsense. But you guys do it just fine all on your own
Dagagad Verified Member Posted March 18, 2023 Posted March 18, 2023 George Springer is not white George isn’t, he seems way too happy to be white. Bo doesn’t smile as much and is quite serious, so yea he’s white. We need more serious pros like Bo around. Less lazy smiling bums like springer. I miss Grichuk. Very serious, very stoic.
Jimcanuck Old-Timey Member Posted March 18, 2023 Posted March 18, 2023 Don't be a tard, Jimmyc. For someone who claims to have recovered from mental illness, you sure do your best to further the stigma

Stangstag Old-Timey Member Posted March 18, 2023 Posted March 18, 2023 George Springer is not white He’s a biracial angel
Spanky99 Old-Timey Member Posted March 20, 2023 Posted March 20, 2023 (edited) We're 10 days from Opening day. Just saying Edited March 20, 2023 by Spanky99
Stangstag Old-Timey Member Posted March 20, 2023 Posted March 20, 2023 We're 10 days from Opening day. Just saying Hard to believe. Pumped. Too bad we won’t be home for another couple weeks after that
BigCecil Old-Timey Member Posted March 20, 2023 Posted March 20, 2023 Every outing has been good, Lets Go Kooch! I see things that still concern me with him - the BBs and pitch selection (hard to tell in Spring as they work on things) - but as a 5th he should be fine, if Berrios doesn't pitch like a 4-5.

However, if the Reds are out of it at the trade deadline and Votto came to them and asked if they would trade him home to Toronto #BlueJays..he said he would consider under those circumstances" / Twitter Sounds like Votto could end up a Jay in August

Jonn Old-Timey Member Posted March 20, 2023 Posted March 20, 2023 Votto as a pinch hitter later this season sounds intriguing. He wouldn’t be coming in to play everyday.
RobinThicc Verified Member Posted March 20, 2023 Posted March 20, 2023 What if Votto asked to traded somewhere else? Would he not oblige? Lol
Laika Community Moderator Posted March 20, 2023 Posted March 20, 2023 What if Votto asked to traded somewhere else? Would he not oblige? Lol probably a couple words lost in transcription there "[for example] if we were out of it and he asked to be traded to Toronto..."
L54 Old-Timey Member Posted March 20, 2023 Posted March 20, 2023 If* the Reds are out of it by the deadline lol Big year in Cincinnati coming up!
Jonn Old-Timey Member Posted March 20, 2023 Posted March 20, 2023 It’s still a very weird thing to say going into a new season. I mean its a nice gesture sure. But sounds like something that should be discussed behind closed doors. Now we’re going to hear about it for the next four months.

Votto doesnt seem like the kind of guy who would ever ask to be traded either. I remember him saying something like asking for a trade isnt something he would do. And I found the quote, it was from last year. “I have never once in my career asked or even whispered anything like [being traded],” Votto said. “I’ve been loyal to this uniform, to this city, to the contract that I signed. On my side of things, it’s never been something I’ve ever really prompted. I have a responsibility to the person that signs my checks.”
Laika Community Moderator Posted March 20, 2023 Posted March 20, 2023 Maybe this is the GM hinting to Votto that he SHOULD ask for a trade haha
The Cats Ass Old-Timey Member Posted March 20, 2023 Posted March 20, 2023 Maybe this is the GM hinting to Votto that he SHOULD ask for a trade haha Ya, the Reds probably want to move him for a prospect, they'd have to eat some of his contract. But there would probably be some backlash from the fanbase. If Votto asks for a trade, the team gets to pass the blame onto him and they'll look like the good guys. Votto would also get to pick where he goes anyway since he has 10-5 rights.

This is a non-story
Krylian Old-Timey Member Posted March 20, 2023 Author Posted March 20, 2023 Frank Catalanotto was white He's still white.

Jays24 Old-Timey Member Posted March 20, 2023 Posted March 20, 2023 Only a few years too late for Votto. Don't care to go get him unless he's offered free of charge lol.

If Belt is on the IL for an extended period of time it might make sense.... Votto would def be an upgrade on Biggio if healthy.
