Rosenthal claiming the Jays have interest in Britton.

If he's healthy and has that sinker working he would be a great fit. Especially being a lefty and also with the new outfield dimensions at Rogers.

With guys like Britton, Reyes and Rosenthal still kicking around out there as free agents, definitely some low risk high reward potential.

Add Giles to that list also.

I doubt it, given his velo and K% trend

He was 97th percentile in chase rate. 90th percentile in avg exit velocity, 96th percentle in hard hit %, 83rd percentile in xwoba. He's still pretty good.

Wrong!!

Need another source before giving this any credence whatsoever

Is the purpose essentially cosmetics? Or did they say something about it?

the dimension changes were to accommodate the new bullpen designs. Wall height to help compensate for the distance changes.

Ah that makes sense. I haven’t read much about it

Yeah, they Jays probably dont have much coverage in "South Asian Wives" monthly.

Not a fan of Asian chicks actually. Well I like Western Asian but “Asian” brings Oriental to mind

The main point is fan experience

bringing the bullpens up is cool

bringing the seats to the edge of the wall so every HR lands in someone's lap is cool

having a slightly non-uniform OF wall adds some excitement too

tbh it seems like the baseball considerations of these changes were not really high on the list of importance

Probably not, but hey at least all the whiners that complain about the park not having any kind of signature and are bored by the round cookie cutter dimensions can all have a nice tall glass of shut the hell up now.

personally I can't wait for some fat awkward reliever to pull a Chad Qualls and somersault over the fence onto the field

I must say I don't love high OF walls as it eliminates the ability for an OFer to "pull back a HR". That said, lowering the fence in CF helps as it creates more opportunities for this to happen. I kind of wish they lowered the fence high in LF and RF (where the distance didn't change) like they did in CF - but I can live with it.

High walls create more bounces, which likely creates some excitement as well. Likely more triples.

Very few triples against us with this OF defense :)

Now WE can hit a bunch :)

Higher walls bad for Vladdy

With his GB rate, the walls would have to be 10 feet away from the plate to really matter for him.

Except that still won’t happen because the bullpens are still in front of the fan seats

But yeah I agree these changes are cool and exciting

Hah, dude has 26 followers and it's been 48 hours, too funny. Is this the Barlow rumour source?

No idea. Saw lots of speculation on Twitter about Barlow over the past couple of days. Didn't spend much time digging in to it tbh. Just thought it was an interesting possibility.

What would we think of Biggio, Richards and a s***** prospect for Barlow (who has 2 years of control left)? I think I'm down for that if we can bring in a vet to replace Biggio.
