MikeM3 Verified Member Posted November 30, 2023 Posted November 30, 2023 Martinez just fits because he meshes with all their young SPs as a guy who can easily move in and out of the rotation as needed
Brownie19 Old-Timey Member Posted November 30, 2023 Posted November 30, 2023 Mets going to sign Vladdy brother. A Trade makes more sense now lol Which one? He has like 12.
Stangstag Old-Timey Member Posted November 30, 2023 Posted November 30, 2023 Ohtani should play the OF 1 game per week! Even when he's back to pitching in 2025 for the Blue Jays. Wonder if he tries to leverage that into his contract
G-Snarls Community Moderator Posted November 30, 2023 Posted November 30, 2023 Yankees need SP badly Hope they can't get any LOL
connorp Old-Timey Member Posted November 30, 2023 Posted November 30, 2023 Which one? He has like 12. He should charge a stallion fee. May be more lucrative than autograph signings
Carlos Danger Old-Timey Member Posted November 30, 2023 Posted November 30, 2023 42M on Pagán and Martinez is a waste. They’ll be paying these two what Sonny Gray makes next year. I think Martinez is highly underrated. The Padres used the heck out of him in different roles. My question would be, were those the right roles. I think if utilized properly, he could thrive.
jaysblue Old-Timey Member Posted November 30, 2023 Posted November 30, 2023 The MLBN should do like a top 50 trade target show or something, thur dumn. Are there credible list's from sites? Hmmm... You should create a list for all of us on the BJMB!
jaysblue Old-Timey Member Posted November 30, 2023 Posted November 30, 2023 Randy would be a great fit in LF for us. I wonder what he'd cost the Jays (and if TB would trade within the division) I've always been a big Arozarena fan. Sure the price is high though. He's still under control for three more seasons. Estimated he'll get around $7-8M in arbitration.

Jimcanuck Old-Timey Member Posted December 1, 2023 Posted December 1, 2023 Chourio signing 8/80 deal with Brewers, should be on the opening day roster
Spanky__99 Old-Timey Member Posted December 1, 2023 Posted December 1, 2023 You should create a list for all of us on the BJMB! I think you, should STFU.
Jimcanuck Old-Timey Member Posted December 1, 2023 Posted December 1, 2023 Final numbers for Chourio, 8/82 guaranteed, options and incentives max it to 10/140. I like this deal for the Brewers
Stangstag Old-Timey Member Posted December 1, 2023 Posted December 1, 2023 Final numbers for Chourio, 8/82 guaranteed, options and incentives max it to 10/140. I like this deal for the Brewers That’s a crazy gamble for the Brews. What a steal by Chourio IMO. Even if he’s the best player in baseball, he loses out on some money but becomes a top free agent at age 27 with 82 million already in the bank.

Even if he’s the best player in baseball, he loses out on some money but becomes a top free agent at age 27 with 82 million already in the bank. Good points. Great deal for him. He's setting a record for a player his age and gets to hit FA again in his prime. If he ends up not panning out he's still got generational money.
Jimcanuck Old-Timey Member Posted December 1, 2023 Posted December 1, 2023 Options are club options, if he's good the Crew keep him through his age 27 to 29 peak
Frenchsoup Verified Member Posted December 1, 2023 Posted December 1, 2023 yeah that 10million dollar first year is going to be nice for Chourio.
z3r0s Old-Timey Member Posted December 1, 2023 Posted December 1, 2023 This is basically a no-brainer for this kid. Life changing money in a position with a lot of risk. Even if he hit the ground running (which is never a guarantee), he's still making peanuts for 3-4 years. Avoids all the service time dicking around (good for everyone). And he can still get paid at the back end. Good for him.
Frenchsoup Verified Member Posted December 1, 2023 Posted December 1, 2023 Winter meetings are going to be sick, i want to see who the best gm in this league is. The new whitesox gm is my favourite right now. Just love that Nicky Lopez deal, that guy is so versatile and lets them shed TA7.
Terminator Old-Timey Member Posted December 1, 2023 Posted December 1, 2023 Options are club options, if he's good the Crew keep him through his age 27 to 29 peak That makes more sense from the Brewer's perspective then.

Though it is crazy that Nicky Lopez has a 6 WAR season under his belt.

I mean.... the White Sox were are so bad that they had roster space for a bunch of players few other teams would even want. Most of those guys were about to get non-tendered by ATL.
Frenchsoup Verified Member Posted December 1, 2023 Posted December 1, 2023 Well AA's dumb for letting Nicky go
Laika Community Moderator Posted December 1, 2023 Posted December 1, 2023 That whole trade was honestly f***ing insane and people don't talk about it enough. Lopez - yeah projections are for 1 WAR and he is a 1 WAR player but he is literally 3 years removed from a 6 WAR season and he's only going to make $4M Soroka - was an ace in 2019 then we all know what happened. But was only going to make like $4M. Kind of dominated AAA in 2023... Shuster - 2020 first rounder, I believe he was their #1 org prospect at some point recently Shewmake - 2019 first rounder, weak numbers, bit of a Groshans thing Gowens - good numbers, apparently has a good FB all for Aaron Bummer. It could blow up so bad for AA, in so many ways.
