That is really sad. What a f***ing piece of s*** Curt Schilling is. I hope he gets AIDS.

That's very noble of you.

Just doing my part to help. Schilling admits he didn't know if Tim wanted this to be public knowledge and chose not to confirm with him first because Curt is a Christian, he's seen prayer work, so said he's going to talk about it...Apparently Wakefield's wife is also very sick with pancreatic cancer. Very sad.

What the f***? Everything about all of that is terrible. Pancreatic cancer is basically a death sentence, brain cancer not necessarily, but if it's aggressive obviously that's bad news. And WTF Curt? I'm sure his heart was in the right place but you got to be careful with this stuff.

It's just one of many mistakes Schilling has made over the past 10-15 years. He's a douche - although he probably believes that prayers actually cure people and thinks that he is helping? That's my guess. You have to confirm with Wakefield before you start telling people and asking for prayers to save him. You just have to. What a moron.

Curt Schilling is not a nice human being.

It's tough, I'm not religious in the least, but I live in a world where some people around me really believe in that stuff, I try not to be a dick about it. Curt genuinely believes that getting a lot of prayers is like equivalent to getting somebody a lifesaving surgery. I try to view it through this prism: would I do anything I could to help a friend get lifesaving surgery? I would, so I guess that's what he feels he's doing in his way.

I admit as much as I try it's still hard for me to wrap my head around prayer and religion and people believing that, but I do try.

There is no defense for it.

Even if you honestly believe prayer = lifesaving surgery then you are essentially forcing a medical treatment on someone without consent.

It's a f***tard move no matter which way you view it.

That's very magnanimous of you. I sure believing people would feel the same way about your moribund nihilism. They try as well.

He did it for clicks. That is who he is. Who he always was. A self aggrandizing prick.

I needed a dictionary for some of that, but I guess the point is well made. I only have science on my side as opposed to factually debunked and provably made up religious text, but we'll not get into all that, I am trying to be magnanimous after all🙂

Never has there ever been a medical treatment forced on someone

Well sometimes they force medical treatments on kids without parental consent if parental refusal has become abusive, is that sort of the same? I mean kids never really consent to medical treatment. In those cases it's forced.

Was Curt Schilling a prick when he played? I always got the impression that he was liked by his teammates when playing, but went full retard when he retired?

He's always been a prick. One of his former GM's said he was “a horse every fifth day and a horse’s ass the other four.” David Wells also mentioned he was widely disliked.

Also for some possible additional clarity, Wakefield apparently did not tell Schilling. It was another teammate who told him in confidence, which makes it even worse, cause it wasn't as if Wakefield had even wanted to tell Schilling and he still revealed it when clearly no one else knew and he was well aware of that.

Red Sox also released an official statement confirming that it wasn't supposed to be revealed.

He's a complete and utter piece of s***, has been for a long time. Just right to the core really.

So its not Schilling’s fault! He can’t be trusted to keep his mouth shut, so Wakefield never told him.

Whoever told Schilling is the one that’s really at fault here. Possibly Varitek??

And now his wife is trying to spin it against Schilling!!! Typical Demo hacks not owning up or taking responsibility.

Personal responsibility. Schilling chose to make it public, nobody else. The teammate who told him is partially responsible for the slip to Schilling but Schilling is the guy who went public without the most basic form of human responsibility

Schilling probably had good intentions in his own mind but...something about a paved road to hell comes to mind

Why would you want to keep brain cancer a secret? People are going to find out pretty quick. Someone is going to leak it if not someone in the medical field or a friend.

When my mother had terminal cancer, she did not want anyone other than immediate family and close friends to know. She wanted to spend her remaining time with them and not have others taking away from that time.

The self righteous slime should respect the privacy of others.

Because you don't want people giving you that look. That look of impending doom, that look of pity.

You want people to look at you and treat you the way they always have and most people just can't do it if they know something like that. It's not their fault, it's human nature but I can totally understand why somebody would want to keep it a secret.

Enjoy the game you f***ing idiots. Locking this thread until I can look at what is being reported after the f***ing game. I better not find out it's the same *******s that always cause the trouble.
