Laika Community Moderator Posted April 5, 2023 Posted April 5, 2023 Heard lots of opinions on it today. He thought he was going to get held at 3B. They should have held him. Why take the chance in that context when the score is 4-1
BTS Community Moderator Posted April 5, 2023 Posted April 5, 2023 Coming of a bunch of hammy injuries too, he's likely not as fast as he used to be, which was pretty close to top precentile in 2022. Olli marmol doesn’t seem like the smartest guy
BTS Community Moderator Posted April 5, 2023 Posted April 5, 2023 Sean Murphy is sitting for the 3rd time in 6 games. AA must not be super thrilled with Snit’s handling of his big offseason addition.

BTS Community Moderator Posted April 5, 2023 Posted April 5, 2023 D’arnaud kinda tearing it up rn so hard to blame him… although he could have him DH more over Ozuna. Ozuna is the puzzling one. Murphy is just straight up a better hitter at this point.
BTS Community Moderator Posted April 5, 2023 Posted April 5, 2023 d'Arnaud is better tho He's not, but either way, AA didn't acquire Murphy to back up d'Arnaud. The plan was clearly to DH a catcher most days they weren't starting. But Snit seems inexplicably married to Ozuna in that spot.

Orgfiller Old-Timey Member Posted April 5, 2023 Posted April 5, 2023 Not exactly a shocker given that he's 37 now, but Josh Donaldson looks pretty washed.
Jimcanuck Old-Timey Member Posted April 5, 2023 Posted April 5, 2023 BTS has some angst, being a Murphy shareholder
Stangstag Old-Timey Member Posted April 5, 2023 Posted April 5, 2023 Not exactly a shocker given that he's 37 now, but Josh Donaldson looks pretty washed. His legs are shot and he has no power in the swing
Orgfiller Old-Timey Member Posted April 5, 2023 Posted April 5, 2023 His legs are shot and he has no power in the swing Honestly credit to him for putting up almost 10 WAR after he left us and all the drama surrounding his leg injuries, before being traded to the Yankees and turning into a pumpkin who’s also a headcase.
Orgfiller Old-Timey Member Posted April 5, 2023 Posted April 5, 2023 Why is Christian Pache starting against Gerrit Cole? Is Brandon Marsh injured or something?
G-Snarls Community Moderator Posted April 5, 2023 Posted April 5, 2023 Not exactly a shocker given that he's 37 now, but Josh Donaldson looks pretty washed. Down 4-1, Boone left him in, with 2 runners on base, to face Kimbrel in the 9th last night while Rizzo sat restlessly on the bench. JD popped out, game over.

Solaxys Old-Timey Member Posted April 5, 2023 Posted April 5, 2023 Rays are winning again, eesh. Also they are sending Grayson against DeGrom, interesting watch. Starting soon.

Terminator Old-Timey Member Posted April 5, 2023 Posted April 5, 2023 Not exactly a shocker given that he's 37 now, but Josh Donaldson looks pretty washed. This year could very well be it for him. He needs to have a good year or he's done since he's a FA at the end of the year. I can't imagine teams will be banging down the door to bring in a 38 year old coming off a bad year and his reputation.
Orgfiller Old-Timey Member Posted April 5, 2023 Posted April 5, 2023 It's honestly pretty shocking to me that a team like the Yankees is starting Franchy Cordero in 2023. Like yeah Harrison Bader is injured, but that's your best internal option to fill in the outfield for you?
Spanky99 Old-Timey Member Posted April 5, 2023 Posted April 5, 2023 Sandy reminds me a lot of Halladay, right down to wasting his prime on a team that will never win with him. Bwahahaha... well played!
Spanky99 Old-Timey Member Posted April 5, 2023 Posted April 5, 2023 More ground balls getting through 1st and 2nd base does not make for more exciting Baseball. How about the hard line drives through that gap, don't be obtuse Jonn.

Orgfiller Old-Timey Member Posted April 5, 2023 Posted April 5, 2023 The Phillies bullpen is god awful.
John_Havok Old-Timey Member Posted April 5, 2023 Author Posted April 5, 2023 First 2 pitches were called strikes, then he fouled off the rest and hit a dinger on the 12th pitch of the AB.
