BREAKING: The Toronto Blue Jays and Arizona Diamondbacks are in agreement on a trade that will send outfielder Daulton Varsho to the Blue Jays for a package that includes top catching prospect Gabriel Moreno, sources tell ESPN.

Great deal for ARI. Moreno should put up nice numbers there, wouldn’t be surprised if they have similar WARs next year. Varsho projects for about 3 war and Moreno should hit that if he starts.

Moreno has no power and is a surplus. Varsho elite D at CF, LHB with power that can also catch.

I'd love to see Varsho trim that K rate a bit and take a few more walks, but there's nothing really to hate in his batted ball metrics.

 

Jays now have 3 CFs in the OF with Merrifield/Biggio as the defacto backups when they're not playing the infield.
