BigCecil Old-Timey Member Posted November 4, 2022 Posted November 4, 2022 Was just about to type "shell of Thor" looks bad. Get the pen up. Then Alvarez chased some poo and Pena thrown out trying to steal. Escaped with 1 run when they had him on the ropes.
Stangstag Old-Timey Member Posted November 4, 2022 Posted November 4, 2022 Alright now THIS is an exciting game already
Jonn Old-Timey Member Posted November 4, 2022 Posted November 4, 2022 Schwarber would be so perfect as a Blue Jay what a beast
Stangstag Old-Timey Member Posted November 4, 2022 Posted November 4, 2022 Schwarber would be so perfect as a Blue Jay what a beast Yup imagine playing Schwarber instead of Tapia all those times
BigCecil Old-Timey Member Posted November 4, 2022 Posted November 4, 2022 Schwarber would be so perfect as a Blue Jay what a beast I wanted him last off season. Given what we spent on others that didn't/haven't worked out 4/80 didn't seemed excessive. His BB rate and power from the left side would be very impactful in our line up. His D and K rate & average kept his WAR down.
BigCecil Old-Timey Member Posted November 4, 2022 Posted November 4, 2022 4 BBs and a bomb in 2 1/3. Dusty needs to get the hook out with Verlander.
glory Old-Timey Member Posted November 4, 2022 Posted November 4, 2022 Schwarber would be so perfect as a Blue Jay what a beast Yeah seriously, Schwarber in the Jays lineup would have been amazing.
Brownie19 Old-Timey Member Posted November 4, 2022 Posted November 4, 2022 How good is Jeremy Pena going to be? He's been incredible on both sides of the ball this post season. Is this just a hot/lucky streak or is this guy going to become a generational player? Anyone want to throw out some comparisons?

Alan Trammell maybe If he can tone down his agressiveness at the plate, he's a regular 5 WAR superstar

Makes it harder to use the "we're a young team still learning" tag line for the Jays. Peña looks like he is playing just any game out there squaring up balls and playing great D.
Omar Old-Timey Member Posted November 4, 2022 Author Posted November 4, 2022 My blood pressure goes up watching Segura bat. He looks like he is trying to so hard to get that big hit. Squeezing the bat too tight.

His BB rate and power from the left side would be very impactful in our line up. His D and K rate & average kept his WAR down. There was legit rumours suggesting the Jays were very interested and in on him until the end but Philly set the market on him. Feel we could have rotated him between LF, 1B, and DH. Hes definitely not a good Defender but he plays a passable LF. He’s actually probably a better Outfielder than 1B. Just having the Lefty bat with that kind of Power and discipline. Springer and Schwarber coming out at you right out of the gates screams intimidation.
Brownie19 Old-Timey Member Posted November 4, 2022 Posted November 4, 2022 Philly fans booing Gurriel for being shaken up on the rundown. Classic ****s.
Brownie19 Old-Timey Member Posted November 4, 2022 Posted November 4, 2022 (edited) Does Dusty not have a pinch hitter on the bench? Why is Maldonado batting here? Edited November 4, 2022 by Brownie19
BigCecil Old-Timey Member Posted November 4, 2022 Posted November 4, 2022 Not sure with RISP 2 out Vasquez doesn't PH for Maldonado here.
Stangstag Old-Timey Member Posted November 4, 2022 Posted November 4, 2022 Not sure with RISP 2 out Vasquez doesn't PH for Maldonado here. Why pinch hit for a silver slugger finalist?
Solaxys Old-Timey Member Posted November 4, 2022 Posted November 4, 2022 gg, Astros prolly win WS, going back home.
BigCecil Old-Timey Member Posted November 4, 2022 Posted November 4, 2022 2 huge plays on D preserve the W for the Stros. What a game.
Omar Old-Timey Member Posted November 4, 2022 Author Posted November 4, 2022 Pressly gets it done again.
Stangstag Old-Timey Member Posted November 4, 2022 Posted November 4, 2022 Holy s*** what a clutch play by McCormick. Game saver
Stangstag Old-Timey Member Posted November 4, 2022 Posted November 4, 2022 gg, Astros prolly win WS, going back home. The Nats beat them at home in games 6/7 to win it in 2019, so its definitely still possible for the Phils. Bats gotta wake up though
G-Snarls Community Moderator Posted November 4, 2022 Posted November 4, 2022 The momentum swings and recency bias among the fans and media are so wild After game one: Astros might never lose again for the next decade After game three: Phillies are the team of destiny and will win all three games at home cause Phillies fans r loud After game five: Oh yeah that's right.. . The Astros are the better team and they'll win it in 6 or 7.
