2022 World Series Thread: Houston Astros vs. Philadelphia Phillies (best of 7)

Well I said the Phillies aren't getting anything off the Astros Bullpen. Technically that was a Starter lol. Its weird to me how commonly Starters have been used in these playoffs and I wouldn't say its been overly successful.

Diaz should be released for that sequence of events.

Embarrassingly sticks out his arm and gets called back after a HBP. For some reason swings at a 3-0 breaking ball. Only to roll over ground out lol.

Well that was as tight as you can get. Pena almost ended it in the 9th too… game of inches

Hope the rest of the series plays out like this

Also Houston just blew a 5-0 lead in game 1 of the World Series yuck

Swung at that same breaking ball twice in a row too. Really should have kept the bat on his shoulder

You’re just thinking of Robbie Ray blowing it.

Garcia, Eflin, and Suarez have been used in relief by these two teams with success. Garcia was the hero of Houston’s epic extra innings win earlier. The homer he gave up last night was a good pitch too - 98 and outside

Castellanos saved the day in the bottom of the 9th. I thought that ball was dropping and Houston would have scored.

Yeah if the ball was hit a foot less that probably would have been game over. And the Realmuto homer was about a foot away from being caught by Tucker.

Very close game

That was the catch(s) we didn't make. 65% probability.

Pop - execution - luck and pen punches the ticket to a World Series win.

Stros very far from done though. Hell of game.

Stros coughing up a five to nil lead in the WS makes our wildcard loss seem less terrible… a little. :P

Yeah teams blowing leads is nothing new… almost glad ours was in round 1 and wasn’t even a clinching game. The situation could have been much worse. Bad loss still

Daily reminder Hoskins should be a DH

He should be on another team...I will keep bashing him, he does something good everytime I do

Lol. The bat is fine but his glove is awful.

Valdez stumbled slightly but absolutely blows Realmuto away and gets a quick couple outs to end any Phillies hope. That’s elite starting pitching.

That was probably the Phillies biggest chance to score some runs… 1st and 2nd no out with Realmuto up. Harper GIDP is unfortunate
