I would fire person who made the pitching change decision. I mean that with all due respect to Kikuchi.

Yeah I don’t really get that at all.

I would fire the guy who hired the hitting coach and the managers

Even Don Mattingly is useless. Miami made the playoff without him

I’d fire everyone and I don’t care if Shapiro is gone too if that means we get a wholesale change

I don't see an easy fix for this team and I certainly don't see it with Atkins running the ship. The farm is atrocious and payroll is maxed. How can you keep him?

Well, that was a pretty big coming from you. You were okay to fire everyone except Shapiro.

If he isn't fired before the playoffs are finished then Rogers is showing us that they don't care. The 3 million turnstiles is the win they were looking for.

Robbie Ray and Matt Shoemaker, different manager, similar idea.

We all know who's pulling the strings.

Shapiro doesn’t make baseball decisions but if firing him means getting rid of Atkins down I don’t care

As long as the spreadsheet shows that it was the right move they'll keep doing it. This is modern day baseball.

Atkins had been here 8 seasons. Every time I hear that it just sounds wrong.

As an aside, AA's teams have gone to the post season every year since 2015.

I started getting a bad stench the moment AA decided to jump ship immediately after Shapiro sunk his claws into this team. Giant red flag. Never felt good about him from the very beginning.

I bet Shapiro makes some baseball decisions. He doesn't just make decisions on renovations lol.

Atkins analytic team and game strategists, he's failed, time to take him behind the shed.

Yeah I'm in the same boat. Shapiro is great at dealing with ownership and the non baseball stuff, but if he's the road block between getting a new front office, then I wouldn't mind if he was gone too.

Although Kenny Williams is available now, so we might have to be careful what we wish for with Rogers doing the hiring.

I think Shapiro is pretty much in control of this roster and everything in terms of baseball ops. He's not just a guy doing renovations. Atkins I believe is probably a puppet as well. That's why AA didn't want to stay. He wanted to do his job and not have someone else overlooking or calling the shots

Wow, different tone now!

This is my question to anyone who says this about firing Atkins? For what direction? A more old school approach (sorry Aj Preller is back with San Diego). The offensive approach is flawed, if that is on Atkins, then fire him or bring someone else in to take over that approach and work along side him

Word directly from people in the know is zero player personnel decisions. Budget approval only

Shatkins overall body of work says they stay. These two playoff losses were tight and could have gone either way. Not enough to use the pitchforks.
