Let's just hope he's really improved his defense because he'll stick out like a sore thumb on our team otherwise this year. We have near elite defenders at all positions except his.

 

And I agree that it isn't his decision but there must be a reason why he hasn't even spent. Maybe management feels his ego is too fragile but it'd all be speculation. Think we all just care about having the best team possible and his defense at SS will be a huge part of this.

 

I recall specifically that Bo was mentioned as having offered to move for the likes of Didi Gregorius in order to improve the team years ago. If the team is to bring in a legitimate MLB short stop that's better than Bo I have no qualms he will be willing to move. Espinal hasn't established himself as a player who should be playing every day as he's shown little ability to hit right handed pitching, attempting to force him into the lineup all of the time likely weakens the team vs strengthening it.

Springer is a 33 year old with questionable legs, which is why they're moving him to a corner permanently, not because he was a bad CF. Bo is 24 and as far as I can recall (which is not very far at all, so correct me if I'm wrong) hasn't had any serious injury issues in his career.

 

Also, Springer is 33 and declining (thankfully not that much yet), Bo is 24 and (theoretically) improving.
